In 2000, Team Bush took over the Republican Party and laid out its promises to the American people. The following pledges and claims are taken directly from the 2000 GOP Platform. Should we laugh or cry at promises made by an administration that has ruled through deception, endless war, politicization of intelligence and the Justice Dept., outing CIA officers, and the like? Endless Military Missions, Exit Strategies and Troop Readiness "The current administration has casually sent American armed forces on dozens of missions without clear goals, realizable objectives, favorable rules of engagement, or defined exit strategies.” [Emphasis added.] "Sending our military on vague, aimless, and endless missions rapidly saps morale. Even the highest morale is eventually undermined by back-to-back deployments, poor pay, shortages of spare parts and equipment, inadequate training, and rapidly declining readiness. Great question and analysis. In my opinion the Republican Party took the wrong path when they embraced the "neoKKKon"/PNAC agenda. They also took a wrong turn when they embraced ONE religious sect and not ALL religions here in America.

While you are watching the events on the ground, they are busy honing their strategies and crafting their statements that will become the official history. It matters not to them what you think. Your opinion of them is meaningless, they are serving their true masters. You can guess who they are. You see, you are looking at the details close up, while they are looking at the big picture. The global financiers and the capitalists are much more important to them than you are.
GOP keeps a grip on power by a two prong approach: 1) taking special care of the ultrawealthy special interest, and 2) telling the poor working schmoe that they are the party of morality. Works like a charm.

I really believe that america is in a transitional period. Republicans are too moderate to be known as conservatives now and the republican values have depleted. But the democrats are not safe either because the only popular democrats have moved to the center. America is tired of liberals and conservatives and wants a third party to come in and work for the people and not the pork barrel projects or the liberal special interest groups. This country was not founded by democrats and republicans and I think it is time for both of them too be doomed

Well, you might have a point except for one glaring problem...we have a two party system, and the other party (democrats) are AT LEAST as bad! The endless missteps of the current congress is doing nothing to advance their quest for grabbing the White House and establishing a long term tenure as the sole power source in DC. Ironicly, liberals in this country have been portraying Bush as an unsophisticated moron, then put two of the most limited pinheads in the entire legislative branch - Pelosi and Reid - in charge of the farm. It is becomming increasingly obvious that the Democrat party is not led by these two no-nothings...they are dancing to the puppetmaster - George Sorros. That is the true leader of the Democrat Party, and the more that fact is uncovered, the less chance the Dems have of holding on to what they now have. The White House? Don't hold your breath. Hillary (who absolutely WILL be the nominee) will not beat Guilliani (regardless of how hard the left-leaning media try to destroy him and prop her up.) So, no, I think as long as the Dems keep going the way they are, even the Republicans have a good chance against them.

They were asking the same thing about Dems a few yrs ago. The farther the pendulum swings one way, the farther it swings back the other. Count on more of that, only this time it's speeding up. I'm calling the next election, and I'm saying the next congress is more Dem, and the next prez is a Rep. Our country IS crazy, and we LIKE it that way...
