1. -be certified with the N.C. State Board of Cosmetologists. -the salary varies, but you get tips with haircuts. -skills: be a people person, and know what angle to hold hair (45 degree angle, etc.) to get the desired look, be able to advie a person whether you think a style will look good on them or not, be able to style and fix any haircut that you do, and know that no matter what, the hair will grow back! -go to work and cut peoples hair all day! -the hours vary depending on where you go to work, like at Great Clips it is usually 6 hours per day, like 9:00am - 3:00pm. -main duties and responsibilities: Being able to trust yourself with someones hair, and making their hair look good no matter what. -You must take the State Board Exam and pass it to become certified, it's tough. -the employee outlook is that being a cosmetologist is a great job, your mistakes aren't long term, and you have job security, because everyone needs a haircut at some point.
