- most start at home ..people don't want to pay you to learn on their motor...you might want to look into www.wyotech.com the pay is not that good, the hours are long and truthfully it can be boring.. it has to be something you love and take great pride in
- With the money involved today, they don't just hire off the street. You first need some education. Try a school like Wyotech or one of the similar schools. After graduating from one of these schools, you can apply at some of the race shops. You will most likely start out as an apprentice and work your way up. Pay depends on your skill level and the quality of the team you are on. The better the team, the more money the team makes, and the better they pay. You must prove yourself first to get on a better team. The only other way you could do this is to start building engines on you own. Professional teams pay you to learn on their equipment. If on your own, you can build legal engines that win races, you will get noticed.
