Can endurance training techniques be used for career?

Endurance training uses techniques like, "run 10 miles, run 11 miles, increase until you're running 26 miles", and so on. I'm wondering if I can use the same approach with my career. I'd like to be able to study more and develop a second career (business) outside my paid job. At least for now, I'm not conditioned to do work outside of work. I wondered if I could use endurance training techniques to teach myself things and to get a side business going so I can retire from my day job. I'd especially like answers from people in business or sports, but all opinions are welcome.

  1. That's a great way to look at it! Start small, and gradually build up. Don't start out intense, or you could hurt yourself. Good thinkin, my man!
