Working in youth work?(U.K)?
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how I can get into youth work, I worked voluntary for various youth groups from the ages of 14 to 18 but I have no real qualifications, I am 23 now and am getting ready to start a career once my child starts nursery next year, I didnt do very well at school as I had a connection in youth work and he was going to take me on and send me on some training courses but unfortunately he moved away when i was 19 so we didnt actually end up doing it. I went to college to do a GNVQ in health and social care but due to a family bereavements i didnt actually finish the course. So Im pretty much unqualified other than my 4 years expirience, though I have nothing to show for it. I gave up on wanting to do it for a few years and ended up in a dead end job but when I go back to work I want to do something worthwhile. Any tips on how I can get into it? Any ideas on any training programmes? I live in london if that helps. Thanks :-) xx
