how much do career tests help?
i am going to take one of those tests and what not at the career development center at my school...they are going to try n help me.......are these tests really helpful?

- They don't run your life, and they may or may not help you out personally. What they will do is give you some career options that you may not have considered before, and point you towards where your aptitudes might help you excel in your career. It's worth doing, especially if you don't know what you want to you yet.
- They dont mean anything. Live life the way you like.
- They can be, but don't let them pigeon-hole you into something you don't really like just because some computer thinks that's what you'd be good at. I took one as an undergrad, and while it did help me pick a major, I didn't follow it (or my career counselor's) suggestions. I took the results and thought about them and what they meant for me and what I wanted to do. Then I came up with my own solution that still changes at times, now 10 years later.
