Please help!! Career advice!! No one will help me!?

I've come here asking this because I've taken online career test which say i should be a pipe layer which I would hate. These are my interest: MUSIC is number one in my life. I know how to set up any string instrument, and like to play (guitar and piano mostly) a variety of instruments and would say that I am good at it. I also have experience recording and mixing music for local bands, and helping get their demos on the radio. second, I love random history facts! I know so many unusual things about history from the eastern and western world that I never have anyone to talk about it to, because no one I know shares the same intreset as me. I love education television and learning. I also am a very quick learner. I hate working in factories, and I dont like jobs that dont involve interaction with people or music. I am getting ready to go to college or tech. school and was wondering if you'd have any ideas of a career i may be interested in! Thank you!

  1. working on a radio station would be ideal x
  2. You should be a pipe layer.
  3. you could try piano tuning I'm told that there is a shortage in this field. You could combine that with teaching music in a school or in a private setting, but most of all look into careers that you find interesting look into music options talk to music teachers, music intsurment shops etc. and run with it.
  4. Important first step - - - CHILL OUT and do not panic - - - you are ready to embark upon College. College is not truly about education it is about networking, developing the friendships & relationships that carry you through life. Concentrate on your people skils, join clubs & societies that enhance your interests. Take as many arts & humanity classes as possible. As another answerer noted, Radio. Most schools have a Campus Radio outlet and you can also get unpaid intern gigs at various radio stations. Also get into event entertainment - - - make it known to party planners, wedding planners, etc that you have certain talents and are ready to share them with the world. Above all work on making friends and in the end that is whatwill lead you to a career. Check out buios of many famous people especially actors & their crowd and you will find it all fell together in High School & College. Peace & Good Luck........pffffffffffttttttzzzzzzzz (ah)
  5. Teach music.
  6. Well, it seems that you have a passion for music and education, and so with those two there are a lot of directions you could go. The most obvious one would be to go into teaching or some form of education. You could become an orchestra teacher or band teacher, as you said you enjoy playing piano and guitar. You could also become a music appreciation teacher. You could just focus on the music aspect and you said you want to interact with people so maybe you could work for a music publishing company. There are lots of different areas to go in with music publishing. The possibilities are endless, and that is what is so much fun about going to school. You gather your interest and find an occupation that centers around what your interest and passions are. It sounds like music and education are your passions, so find something that encompasses both of those and go for it! Good luck!
  7. A musician? Or musical historian? A writer who specializes in music? Or a music teacher? A musical history teacher? A pop culture writer? (Think, Chuck Klosterman. Don't know who that is? Look him up.) The possibilities are endless, music is a big field, but it might mean you have to put your other interests aside. Journalism sounds the best to me for you, because you'd get to learn about a wide range of subjects, and it sounds like you'd enjoy that. You would sometimes be required to write articles about past events, you'd get to interview and interact with people that way, and if you worked writing for a music magazine, you'd be able to see musicians play live, talk to them, listen to the newest CDs first, and that would all be doing your job! If I were you, I'd try to get hired writing at a music magazine, since "Music comes first." Maybe you could do something as a musician as a side at first, since it's a bit of a shaky career. Good luck~!
