Are you talking to your friends and letting them know that you oppose abortion? Are you informing others of the alternatives to abortion? Are you working to make it easier for pregnant women to continue their careers and education--by making sure that schools and companies provide changing tables, maternity leave, child care, etc.? Are you staying informed on the issues so you can refute the arguments of abortion supporters? Are you voting pro-life? Are you protesting at abortion clinics? Are you writing your representatives urging them to stop funding Planned Parenthood and abortion? Are you writing letters to the editor? Are you volunteering at crisis pregnancy centers? Are you donating to the pro-life movement? Are you considering adoption? If you are religious, are you raising the issue of abortion at your place of worship? In short, what are you contributing to the cause of the unborn? There's a role for all of us to play, and it's important that we find and fill that role. Abortion supporters--save your time. This is a question for those who oppose abortion. Alli, as a matter of fact, pro-lifers have opened thousands of pregnancy resource centers to help pregnant women. They offer food, clothing, shelter, money, diapers, adoption information, pregnancy tests, health care referrals, and counseling even after abortions--all for free. Oh, and of course Planned Parenthood's biggest revenue generator is abortion. 260,000 abortions x $400 = a lot of blood money.

my ex knew i was pro-life and used that when she got pregnant by cheating on me. She actually told me if i left her she would abort her child. I ultimately stayed and raised the child for 18 months, to save her life and bonded so deeply with her. I have never heard of a stay at home daddy for another's child under those conditions... i can take that before my Maker.
While I believe that everyone has a right to their own opinion, I feel the need to express mine in a firm manner but in an appropiate way. Yes, I have done countless research projects as part of multiple courses taken in university and I am AWARE of this subject matter and I believe that ABORTION should be banned regardless of perspective (whether religious, ethical, social, personal, etc.). I hope that I have insured your security that this matter will not be forgotten easily.
seriously if you haven't adopted then you're not pro-life The whole point to being pro-choice is there are too many unwanted children brought into this world. The solution for pro-choicers is to allow women to make the choice to abort if they are carrying an unwanted child. The only real solution that a pro-lifer could offer is to adopt all unwanted children if you haven't adopted you are not really pro-life just anti-choice
I just had a debate of this sort in my class. The only thing the other side was able to come up with was "If a women is raped, she should have the right to an abortion". We crushed them, but all and all, on a political stance, aboriton should be legal if its used to save a womens life, after all, its her choice if her life is more important than her childs. Otherwise, adoption is always avaliable to anyone, and there is no real reason to kill the child.
I'm with a local group that supports women that want to keep their children. we find them flexible jobs, school schedules, daycares, and have a support group that meets every week night and saturday mornings.
Why are the pro-lifers trying to mix religion in with politics considering that according to the First Amendment of the Constitution states that there is supposed to be a separation between church and state? Why can't the decision be between the woman and God? I agree that there needs to be more information and opportunities out there to help women. Maybe if women were afforded more options they would not have to resort to abortion. Why attempt to stop funding Planned Parenthood when they also give prenatal care and ob-gyn services to many women who would otherwise have no health care? Are the Pro-lifers willing to start a free clinic to help these women out? Are we treading upon a dangerous road when we introduce religious convictions into politics? Let the woman decide at the very least. Thanks for the update and the information. It's too bad that many don't know about the options available to them. I still think that the matter should be between the woman and God, but maybe if more options and help were put out there things could be better for everyone.
I'm not a pro-lifer, but i'm against abortion. Using contraceptives might be an answer, and, of course, not getting laid with every single horny "stud" you see. It's all about common sense ;)
I am pro-life and would tell anyone that I believe abortion is murder plain and simple. I have supported Rock for Life in the past, but lately my attention has been on the war. Being pro-life does not just mean bieng anti-abortion. It also means being anti-war and anti-death penalty.
The alternative to abortion is not conceiving unless one is ready, willing, able, and in an appropriate, married relationship to have a baby. When enough babies exist in your own life, sterilization. Abortion is a failure of one or more of the above. If the pregnant woman cannot find a way to further her education in the world AS IT IS, she (and her husband) are not ready to be parents. In fact, in this materialistic and selfish society, I don't think many are prepared to be parents. On this planet of 6.5 billion people, "Be fruitful and multiply" is the means of certain death. What am I doing? Vasectomy at age 22, as I realized that I was not made of "the right stuff" to both support and guide a child properly, and thus did not wish to participate in causing one. I'm supporting the right of the unborn to remain that way.
wow... abortion should be legalized so every person has a choice, such as in date-rape in which someone gets pregnant... horrible... stem cell research should be legalized go even the abortioned ftus can help benfit others... read the book freekonomics and u'll find out that places were abortions are iligal more crimes happens... the worst family relation is 1 were the child is unloved and unwanted... the best way to put a stop to it is planned parenthood and sex-ed not protests - that defeats the purpose of it all and badgering the clients doesnt help - duh
For all of you who say that you are pro-life Where were you when the death penalty was passed?? How many babies have you adopted or at least had as forster chidlren?? How many times have you told a young mother who made a mistake that her altrnative to abortion was you adopting her child and making sure that it got the care that she couldn't give?? How many of you help women who have placed thier child for adoption either keep in touch or find them when they're old enough?? How many of you go to a group home of forster children an mentor at least one of them???? Until you do those things don't tell me that you're pro-life? Pro-life means more than being anti-abortion. It means being Anti-death penalty Life is Life and you don't get to pick and choose which life you would save and which isn't worth saving that's for God if there is one. How many of you go into depressed neigborhoods and show the girls there that they have something other than having babies to prove that they can offer something to socitey?? You guy's say that you're anti- abortion it's not really the baby that you want to save pre-say it's because there is a lack of "White" babies for all of the parents who want one. You guys couldn't care less about the babies who aren't white. You just want white babies so that white couples don't have to go aboard to get children. If all of you really were pro-life than there would be less minortiy babies left in agencies that can't find them permant homes. There wouldn't be older children who've been in forster homes for years becuse no one will adopt them.
Abortion is Murder I believe that abortion is wrong because a life starts at conception. Women choose to abort their babies for a variable of reasons like I’m too young and cannot support a child, if I kept the child the expectant father would leave me, my parents will disown me and, I cannot fit into my size three clothes anymore. Abortion is still an on-going debate in our society. Organizations and communities are divided in pro-life or pro- choice groups. Pro-life people recognize an unborn child from the moment of conception. Pro-choice people don’t call an unborn fetus a baby until it breaths on its on. Pro-choice people will admit that it’s all right if a mother wants to abort an eighth month old fetus-baby just because she cannot fit into her clothes. I’m appalled by this. I do not see a legit reason to abort a child based on selfish reasons. In my writing on this issue I hope to persuade Pro-choice people to the Pro-life side. American citizens need to get Roe v. Wade overturn so that, selfish women will stop killing America’s future. Abortion is the murder of innocents. An abortion is the removal of a fetus, resulting in its death. Wade the attorneys Linda Coffee and Sarah Weddington filed suit in Texas on behalf of Norma L. McCorvey (“Jane Roe”.) The defendant in the case was Dallas County District Attorney, Henry Wade, representing the State of Texas. The case took three years to reach the United States Supreme Court. In the meantime, McCorvey had given birth. At the time of the case, she claimed her pregnancy was the result of being raped, which was a consensual act and she now states the rape wasn’t true. McCorvey went public with her identity in the 1980s and now claims she became the "pawn" of two young and ambitious lawyers (Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee) who were looking for a plaintiff whom they could use to challenge the Texas state law prohibiting abortion. She wrote an autobiography, "I am Roe.” (en.wikipedia.org, May 6, 2007) My aunt was raped by her father, and she made a choice to have a child. He is mentally challenged and has the mind set of a three-year to four-year old. Ask her if she would have aborted and she would say never cause that is when her father stopped raping her and her sisters. Would she abort if she had known that her son was mentally challenged she said no she felt him grow and fell in love with him while he was in the womb. I have also read that most rape victims do not get pregnant but if they do become pregnant by their assailant they decide to have the child because they do not want anymore violence bestowed up on them. They feel that the child is just much as a victim as they are. Some reasons for abortion is the mother-to-be is single or unwed at the time, she has no financial stability, she may have complications or child in the womb is incapable of surviving. When a woman becomes pregnant with an unwanted child she needs to think of other options especially adoption. There are families out there that can’t have children not by choice and those families would love to be parents to any born child which is not wanted. My cousin and his wife went through a tough time in 2003, the baby she was carrying wasn’t fully formed when he or she decided to make an appearance in this world. The skin on the baby didn’t form and the child had no identifiable sex organs. Their child was in critical condition when he or she was born. This little bundle of joy fought for three days to stay here with his or her parents but if you ask them if they have any regrets about not going through with an abortion that the doctor recommended the reply is no we loved the child from the time he or she was in the womb and we were glad to get to know him or her, even if just for just a few days. I found out that most parents when they find out their unborn child may not live decide to go ahead and have the child since there are infant hospice hospitals to go to for help during a very emotional time to help deal with losing a child. Most Pro-choice advocates want the general public to believe that the abortions that are performed are necessary to save a woman’s life. Some women have been given the option to abort their baby because they were at high risk; those women chose to have their babies and they were healthy despite what the doctor suggested for them to do. Most abortions are done out of malice to get rid of a baby that a woman did not want to begin with. Pro-choice advocates want us to believe that every rape victim becomes pregnant and should have a choice to abort the child. All rape victims don’t get pregnant from the attack. The analysis is less than one percent get pregnant and those women choose life for their children and either keep them or they put them up for adoption. I for one believe that life begins at conception. I have two beautiful babies that is proof of that. I may have not known when I became pregnant but their vital organs were already developing. At 22 days after conception the embryonic heart starts to beat, the woman is only 5 weeks pregnant. With an ultrasound the parents can see the little heart flicker, but will have to wait a few more weeks to hear the heartbeat at their prenatal appointment. Collins of Northwestern University Medical School points out that by day 43 after gestation a baby’s brain wave activity can be measured on an electroencephalogram and by the end of the 2nd month, the neurological structures necessary for pain sensation are present. Babies at this stage can survive if born early and baby Amillia Sonja Taylor is proof of that. She was born at 21 weeks gestation on October 24, 2006, weighing in at less than 10oz and was 9½ inches long. She is the first baby to have survived after less than 23 weeks gestation according to the hospital. (cbsnews.com, May 24, 2007) I believe that all abortions should clearly be ruled illegal since baby Amillia Taylor lived by the giver of all life, all babies have the right to live. Thanks to President George W. Bush, abortionist can no longer deliver a baby, feet first and leave the baby’s head in the birth canal while it is being readied for slaughter. He signed into law, the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, on November 5, 2003; this protects an unborn child from being taken in a horrific way and so late in the mother’s pregnancy. President George W. Bush also signed Born-Alive Infants Protection Law, which was signed August 5th, 2002, but in Federal Government (and most state) law, a “live birth” occurs when the baby is (1) all the way outside the mother, even if the cord is still attached, and (2) displays any respiration, heartbeat, or movement of voluntary muscles. (nrlc.com, May 12, 2007) I would like to see equal protection rights under the U.S. Constitution for all living humans from the time their biological life begins at conception until natural death. I also would like to hear that the counselors at the abortion clinics are taking responsibility and telling women the truth about the facts of a human fetus. If a woman wants to know how big the baby is in any trimester tell her, if she ask for a different alternative than killing an unborn baby give it to her. When counselors at these abortion clinics tell the woman the truth they may feel better in the about the work they are suppose to do and be able to sleep at night and have a better morning. The only way we as a country can stop abortion is by getting a total ban on the procedure. To do anything less, is to countenance the killing of one unborn child to save the live of another. Abortion is literally ripping a child apart in the womb. This is baby slaughtering. These are innocent children, and it’s time for women to take responsibility of their bodies if they are going to engage in sexual activities and become pregnant than they are responsible for the outcome. The unborn child is not at fault if she becomes pregnant. It is her own responsibility just as much as the man’s because she should have took contraceptives with her when she plans to have sexual intercourse. It’s not just a man’s place anymore; it’s also the woman’s. If she can’t be responsible then she shouldn’t have sex. Troy Newman, the National President of Operation Rescue, is setting an example for what, more pro-life organizations could do. He bought the Central Women’s Services in Wichita, Kansas and turning the old abortion clinic into his organizations headquarters, complete with a prayer garden and a memorial to the 50,000 unborn children which were murdered there. Nowadays there is help for mother’s to be; Pregnancy Crisis Centers are located in almost every town, and they help with baby necessities. They also provide educational videos and child birth classes. There is also adoption or foster care that a woman can look into. I want everyone to at least agree with me that abortion is the murder of a child. If you should disagree, than you haven’t seen the pictures of these innocent aborted babies and if you are pro-choice and have children, were your children alive since conception or just a blob of tissue?

there are several things that can be done to be active in the pro life movement. I have done some of these things.... 1. Direct personal involvement...open your home to a pregnant girl, open your home to an "unwanted"child, volunteer time with organizations, donate materials, teach your children and other young people to say no to premarital sex. 2....Educate yourself 3...Write letters to your state and political people 4...Refuse any indirect or business support of abortion clinics and explain your refusal. Boycott pro abortion companies, landlords of abortion clinics, and businesses that share space with clinics. 5...Picket, make signs, organize or participate in a life chain, join rallies and marches, or attend pro choice rallies as a counter demonstrator. 6..Start something like..baskets for babies, have pro life people post signs all over your neighborhood with addresses of people willing to take the baby with no questions asked and have them put up for adoption.
