I just thought about this career path but in the last 2 weeks I've drawn up 2 at least 30 outfits! OH YEA I WENT ON GOOGLE AND DECIDED TO DO SOME REA SEARCH SO, TYPE IN FASHION -EDITOR, -DESIGNER, -ICON AND IT WILL GIVE U TIPS ON HOW TO DO A PORTFOLIO. GOODLUCK!!! Hope 2 c OUR faces/names on the front cover of some magazine 1 day!!! ~!~MORGAN~!~
  4. Study and do well in all your English classes. Whatever class you have to write a term paper for, allow yourself plenty of time to write, edit, and rewrite your paper. It's all practice for your future. Work on your school newspaper. Write about whatever needs to be covered. Offer to help edit the paper. Work closely with the teacher/advisor to learn all you can. Read newspapers. Your school library may subscribe to some of the larger papers, as well as the local ones. Sometimes local newspapers invite teens to submit articles. Here's your chance to shine and make a name for yourself. Read the current fashion & style magazines with a critical eye. Study how they are written and organized. If something, good or bad stands out in your mind, write a well thought out letter to the editor. When you do this be sure to include your full name and return address to show you are making a serious comment. Sometimes malls or stores have Teen Advisory Boards. Ask if there is something like that near you, and participate if at all possible. It will give you experience working with others and help you learn to express yourself. Dream big and work towards that dream. The only real limit on what you can achieve is you.
  5. Well if I were you I would get familiar with today's fashion, fads, and trend setters. And also get familiar with the different style of shirts, shoes, handbags, etc. Also study really, really hard in English class! That will help you alot when you get older. Also you will need to get familiar with your history, fashion history of course :). Look up old fads and trends from the past 60 or so years and see how the styles have changed. You will notice that some things are coming back in a way. Once you are familiar with these things then it will be easier for you to write about them when you get older! GOOD LUCK! :) -Emily E
