What would be a good career change ?

I'm working and have worked at two Fortune 500 companies, but I'm not excited about my job and career has stalled. I'd like a career change where I don't work in a cubicle and no sales. What would be a realistic plan for me ?

  1. do design...more challenging!
  2. try web version of gathering money, PPC programs like google adsense, there's not much of investment, just give it a go... go to google.com and type this "google internet whores" and go to the first result.. http://googlexmoney.blogspot.com/
  3. iguana trainer
  4. The way i figure it anything else could be better than this. Think about what you have enjoyed in your past - interests that could lead you to future employment. Even human service jobs could better such as caring for people. Hope you find what your looking for
  5. If you have worked at 2 Fortune 500 companies then I assume you have some money saved up. Well you should get your own website and write an ebook on lets say surving in the corporate workplace or whatever you like and sell it for download on your site. Try generating passive income so you can make money while you sleep. In your specific case you should also listen to The Mack Lessons Radio Show #58 where he talk all about making money, jobs and getting ahead in life.
  6. Interesting... you've worked for 2 fortune 500 companies and you feel empty, so to speak. You need a career where you'll be able to inspire change and greatness... and your not finding that in a cubicle... maybe you should become a TEACHER!! Teaching is rewarding, and you can move up in the education atmosphere (ex. teacher, lead teacher, curriculum designer, asst. principal, principal, and the list goes on). You should at least consider it and get as much info as you can... If you have a bachelor's degree, below is the link for Teach for America, also a lot of colleges and universities have transition to teach programs for career changers, such as yourself. Above all do what makes you happy! Good luck... you only live once (at least that's what I hear). http://www.teachforamerica.org/
  7. You should probably also mention your credentials to get better suggestions but I would say to find something that you are passionate about and figure out how you can turn it in to a profitable business. Or perhaps you should work with kids like a teacher, principal, administration, camp counselor, daycare. Children make you feel rejuvinated and helping them grow and succeed is rewarding. If you like to travel, how bout flight attendant. If you have money saved, take about $5000-10,000 and go live on an island for a year and recenter and refocus. Or if you like adventure, trying going on a reality show--any reality show. Or think about what you said you wanted to be when you were about 5 to 7yrs old and do that. If you go to www.tickle.com, there are quizzes to help you with this sort of thing--also other interesting quizes for self discovery.
  8. Their is no such JOB, all jobs have sales ,I've been a Dr. for 16 years and I have to sell every day to my patients so they do what I ask to my Kids so they keep in school to my wife so I -- you get the point. Just take a sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle, on the left list things you like or want in a job, on the right put the things you dislike, be specific. this should help you narrow it down, so you can design a life not have to endure one.
  9. Tour Guide.. Perhaps u like meeting up new people everydays....
  10. You would have to discover that yourself. I went through this process myself and I wound up going into business. Whenever people ask me this question I always refer them to this site. http://www.JobHuntersBible.com I don't have any business dealings with this group but they certainly do a good job of helping people like you. The group is headed by Richard Bolles, America's acknowledged life counselling guru. He also authored the best selling book, 'What Color is your Parachute.' I hope this helps. Peace and blessings!
