Has Bradman in his entire Test career been selected but dropped from playing 11?

Being such a great batsman ever to have played this game, wanted to know if anyone knows that if he was dropped from the playing XI. I am interested only in Test Cricket and not the other tour matches.

  1. Bradman was dropped once after scoring 18 and 1 in his first test match V England in 1928-29. He came on as a substitute fielder in that test he was dropped for after Ponsford fractured his left hand. He was recalled one test later and scored the first of his 29 hundreds in the second innings. The rest, as they say, is history. EDIT: In reply to KooKee the scores in Bradman's first test were: England 521 & 342-8 dec beat Australia 122 & 66 by 675 runs - still a test record victory margin by runs alone.
  2. GKing beat me to the punch, but yeah The Don was dropped after just 1 test !! I will add to Gking's point about Bradman being dropped after 1 test, In his first Test England scored a mammoth total (over 800 i think) whilst all the Aussie batsmen struggled with the pitch, the pitch was a bit hard to play your shots on, and Australia found that out as they collapsed to make only 66 in there seconds innings ! England destroyed Australia by over 500 runs !! Bradman was made the scapegoat, and he was dropped !! he did field most of the next match though as a substitute for Bill Ponsford Bradman was recalled after 1 match !! and in that match he scored 79 and 112 !
  3. In his first testmatch, Bradman was a failure as Australia wereall out for 66 runs in their second innings and lost the match by 675 runs. He was, therefore, dropped from the next test.
