I graduated from Penn State University in May 2007 and could not find a job. I finally decided to get a "time pass" job in retail in October 2007 and have been working there ever since. I am VERY frustrated with how difficult the job hunt has been for me. My major in college was microbiology and my gpa was 3.4. I am currently looking for any kind of job, even if its not in my field, that is at the college graduate level...i need to start my REAL career. I dont have any internship experience, which I feel is holding me back. I am considering a job in consulting right now and would like to know the best way to get into it. Are there certain companies that hire recent college grads w/ little experience? I have tried all job search sites, college career office (they aren't very helpful in getting you a job), temp agencies, gone on about 10 interviews, and am losing hope in finding a job. What should I do? Is consulting difficult to get into?
