I have researching for a while on different careers in forensic science, one that caught my eye was a firearms examiner. I just haven't found out how to get into this field as far as an entry level job and gaining experience. I have the right education for the job, just no experience with firearms. Do I need to start as a forensic science technician and gain entry into firearms examination from there? Or is there an entry level job that deals specifically with ballistics, or some kind of training I need to get into? I can't find any info on this, any leads will be greatly appreciated! I know I may need to move to find an opening in this field, I have looked on a forensic job board but still found no clues as to what an entry level job into this position would be.
