Does software QA training require IT background?
I am in a health care related field, and want to change my career. My friend suggests that I should try software QA. Does QA training require extensive IT background? Is it enough to do a QA course?

- Generally QA (Quality Assurance) Testing does require a technology background. If you are interested in computers, having been in the health care field, you may want to see if there are any health care related software companies in your area. They may be willing to take on someone with "extensive knowledge in the health care area" but no IT experience. Otherwise, you will likely need to take some sort of computers course, most QA positions will require a minimum of an Associates degree, but frequently you need a Bachelors in the technology field. Each company will be different.
