Full Careers

Please answer this. Its about jobs. no one has answered this the last time i posted this Q.?

I'm about to graduate High School. I want to know if you know any websites that are good for discovering careers. Not a job finder, but a site that tells the nature of jobs. Such as pay, hours, education required, type of work that will be done on the job. Thanks

  1. Do a search on Google. I typed in "teacher description job" and got six links that described what a teacher does. Salary would vary from state to state, and education would be determined by the state requirements
  2. Try this site: http://www.khake.com/page2.html and this one: http://www.careervoyages.gov/
  3. No, not really but you can google anything these days. I would just go to google and type in the career you are curious about and then add the words "job description". That should pull up a few sites giving specific details about the job.
  4. Salary.com has descriptions and pay rates of jobs. I'm not sure if it will tell you educaion requirements though.
  5. try searching articles at yahoo finance (http://finance.yahoo.com/) or aol. They are always posting articles about best jobs, worst jobs, best paying jobs, jobs most in demand etc. Also try careerbuilder.com, at the bottom of the page they have a Job Search Tools section, click on career advice.
  6. Try cbsalary.com ~ has all the info you need.
  7. Try the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook. Has most jobs with job descriptions, educational requirements, salary expectations, job conditions, etc. http://www.bls.gov/oco/home.htm
  8. http://www.collegegrad.com/job/jobdescriptionandsalary.shtml Here's another one for you to look at. Good luck!
