Careers? ANSWER PLEASE. 10 points for best.?

Okay I'm 15 and pretty much a straight A student. I'd describe my self as having hands on and practical appraoch and I'm quite artistic, but I'm top set for english maths and science and am Predicted A's in all 3. Problem is I'm split between two career paths: Artistic director and set design for movies and dramas. that kind of thing anyway. I've taken art and art textiles for GCSE ( I also took History and Geography) and am predicted A/A* in both, I really enjoy them but dont want to feel like I'm wasting my brain power... Or science. I'm good at science and last year I won an award for best attainment in Geography. I've looked into it and you can get up to 20% off the science courses at universitys and theres a growing need for scientists. If you have any ideas on what directon I should take I'll be grateful. =] P.s. I want to go to Uni.

  1. although th first choice sounds like fun, th eproblem is is that there will be a hard time trying to get a job in it. I would deffinately go with science. There are a lot of things you can go into when you are a science major.. meedicine...engineering etc and they all make great money!
  2. my son was good in both art and science. he went to college , he had to borrow the money. he then went to medical school.if you want something go for it.
  3. I would go with a degree in science. It's more of a sure bet as far as careers go. You could still dapple in artsy things as a hobby, or as a part-time position. It's better to go into a career where there is demonstrated demand, than to follow your dreams and end up without a steady job. Just my humble opinion.
  4. I have been there and done that. You have the advantage of being so young. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders and have abundant opportunities ahead of you. I suggest that you follow your passion. Whatever you are passionate about and love most will give you the drive and motivation to succeed. Do not waste thousands of dollars on school because "you will make good money" or there is a growing need in the economy. The economy always fluctuates and you will never know what will happen today or tomorrow or the next. Spend the money and invest in some stills that you enjoy. University is great. Take as many pre-requesites as you can so you have unlimited opportunities. You still have time to decide. Do something you love and you will never have to work a day in your life. The money will follow and it should never be an issue.
  5. I am going to suggest that you do a bit more research. This is the Washington state employment web site. They have links on the left side of the page that you can take to free aptitude testing, career searches or job market expectations. There are many different sites with tons of information waiting for you to discover which choice is for you. So here is the site and you can choose your own direction.
