Am I wasting my time to take this training?
I was given a rare opportunity to get a Free Call Center Training and had my first class today. It was really nice esp the fact it's free. But then I got an SMS message from Bigby's cafe where i submitted a resume and asked me if i can come for an interview tomorrow. Unfortunately, i can't make it within two weeks from now due to my training. Right now, i felt guilty & confused coz i dont want to be absent nor late in my 2nd day in the training.I am somehow confused w/ the thought that the restaurant was asking me to come but i am the one who refused. Should i regret having taken the training? Actually, i still have a job as an Internet cafe cashier that pays below average & now im doing a job search & really hoping to find a really worthwhile job. I am still having doubts to work in a call center. I joined the training mainly to enhance my customer service/communication skills & self-confidence. Honestly, i don't know what career i should take? I am a Business Admin. grad.

- since u havent mentioned anything about experience lets assume u have none..in that case ur call center training will help u in the long run. :-(..all i know is nothing in this world is free..who knows u may have to work for them in return as favor..in such a scenario work in nite shifts for few months n leave.. on the other hand training is going to finish in next 2 weeks. my suggestion to u is to meet your prospective employer n work out the details..tell him with these skills you will be well equiped to work for his outlet. whatever u do give it your best shot.,.do not ever doubt yourselves..Stick to your decisions..everything will work out itself
- Contact the restaurant and explain your situation and see if they can reschedule the interview. If they say no, then it wasn't meant to be and you have acted in a responsible way to both the restaurant and the Call Center folks. You can also work it from the other end and request the Call Center folks to see if you can go to the interview and get back to the training as quickly as possible. If they say no, it is the same result of behaving responsibly. In either case, if one says "yes", you are also in the winner's circle because new opportunities arise for you. It never hurts to make a reasonable request. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
