Candidates for Official Court Reporter vacancies in the State of Wisconsin must meet one of three minimal professional standards to be considered eligible for hire as Official Court Reporters. The standards are: (1) Graduates of a court reporting school accredited by either the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) or the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA), (2) Registered Professional Reporter certification from the NCRA, or (3) Equivalent certification through the NVRA. The Director of State Courts Office maintains a court reporter eligibility roster for placement of official court reporters throughout the State of Wisconsin. Salary is established based on evidence of qualifications and previous court reporting experience.
