What does the career service center do?
My university has a career service center do? I don't want to walk in and look stupid going in and trying to find a job and they are not answering my e-mails. I am a current student. I need a part-time or full-time paying job on campus. Is this what the career service center does or do they only help students with their careers? I am not graduating yet. I just need a paying job on campus because I have no transportation.

- The career center is typically to help student write resumes, find internships, and pass interviews. You want to talk to your college's work-study coordinator.
- It depends on the university. My old one's career center did have lists of university work-study positions. Each school calls things whatever it wants. Go in, tell them what you're looking for, and if it's the wrong thing -- so what? You'll never have to see them again -- or by the time you are seeking the help they *do* offer, they will have seen so many people they'll have forgotten about your earlier visit. There's no shame or stupidity in being wrong in this case. Or just call them if you don't want to walk in. Those of us online can't *really* help you because we don't know your school. Just go for it!
