If you don't want to be the Pope but would like to be a clergy person that choice is open. So is just about every other. I have also not revealed MY choice. I'll save that for when I close this question. (It is on the list.) I really like Renaissance Man's answer. There are many others I like as well. To early to choose the best, but will try to do that tomorrow. Bijou, I admire your idealism. If I could grant your wish I would. I see some really cool ideas here and I like every answer so far.

  2. A concert pianist.
  3. Exactly what i am studying to be, a middle school math teacher

  5. A bounty hunter , or an Assassin that works for the gov't jk...... Probally a computer programmer
  6. I would like to add one more thing... Retired! Retired at age 42! daytrader was my gig. So If I have to choose from your list, I would say Social Worker now that I am retired. If I went back to anything I would choose that ONLY because I love helping others. Dont care about the money. I spend my time helping others now and love every minute of it!
  7. I'd be a magician, storm chaser or firefighter.
  8. i want to be an orthodontist! even though people think they are evil :p good question.
  9. movie star
  10. I would enjoy running a comic book store or being a successful freelance writer.
  11. AHHHHH, COOL QUESTION. It's not IF you could pick. You all CAN pick. I picked exactly what I want. I was in my first year of law school and stopped because it would have been so false to continue down that road and spend my life trying to tell myself that the money is worth it. Instead of being a patent attorney I followed my real dream of being a patent designer and make my money creating and selling my ideas. You HAVE to do what you love. Don't live for the pay. It's only money. If what you love pays a little less at first, make adjustments. If you do what you love, your pay goes up fast. This is IT IT IT for answering this very question. The book is "48 Days To The Work You Love" by Dan Miller. http://www.amazon.com/48-Days-Work-You-Love/dp/0805431888 I switched jobs, and made less for a little while, but I supplemented the smaller income with this guys' wisdom. He wrote the foreword for Miller's book. Scroll down and click "Listen to Dave". JUST LISTEN. http://www.daveramsey.com/tdrs/index.cfm/2007/9/17/Getting-rich This one audio clip of his CHANGED MY LIFE when I heard it. Listen to this man for free, on the radio or online. This is like getting financial wisdom from Bill Gates except this guy has a national radio show. TO EVERYONE: WHY AREN'T YOU DOING WHAT YOU WANT?
  12. Special Forces (DELTA or SEAL), CIA case officer or CIA Spec Op.
  13. Senior editor of a major publication. The Los Angeles Times, Vogue, etc.
  14. Pro Basketball Player :)
  15. movie star
  16. i want to be a photojournalist when i grow up
  17. Anything? Easy! I would love to be (civilian) in command of peacemaking and peacekeeping operations for the UN (Blue Beret's). More importantly, I would start operations prior to conflict, as traditionally Blue Beret's are sent in only after the peace process has begun. Civilians are allowed to serve in this capacity as well, and they do not have to engage in combat. This world is so messed up, what better place to start? I choose my companion to be the 14th Dalai Lama.
  18. Rock Star!! Realistically Park Ranger. Love the outdoors!!
  19. 24.) I wasn't a Social Worker but many Clients would call me that. I was a counselor for women who were victims of domestic violence, and also a Rape counselor, later I was a counselor for Hurting women in a Christian Women's Center. I loved the job choice that I had. My real job was my dream job!
  20. You didn't list my Dream job Warren! I would have loved to have been a stand-up comic! People tell me I am very funny just like the avatar I have chosen 'Betty White' People have always told me that I look like her. I can mimic peoples voices and I love to cut up and tell silly stories. I can preach with the best of them! I was married to a Baptist Minister. I am a widow.
  21. Personally I like the job I have. Nurse but if I had to choose from these I would pick author as I dabble in writing.
  22. Farmer/rancher
  23. Famous Author, Because my books will live after me forever... and people will always remember me.
  24. Warren, Great question. Being old and retied all I can do is dream. I worked all my life as a computer programmer, main frame, which was a great career. Granted some of the ones listed are big bucks careers but that is not all there is to life. Your listing Park Ranger hit me. I would love to go back and be a National Park Ranger at Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii. Other choices would be Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon. My favorite parks. I back packed down into the Grand Canyon a number of years ago. Sadly Arthritis has stopped all that.
  25. This is a VERY tough one--I have leanings toward half the above listed careers. In recent years, I have wanted to become a film producer--what movies have DREAM source material end up miscast, badly set, &c. I actually consider the 1950's-vintage Warner Bros. film Spirit of St. Louis miscast--then-General Lindbergh and the film's producer(s) had James Stewart for the lead role when, IM(ntb?)HO, Patrick McGoohan should have had the role--he actually LOOKED and SOUNDED much as did Lindbergh as a reserve Captain in the late 1920's, at the time the movie was going into production. (I would have had Stewart as one of the bankers that became the backbone of the Spirit of St. Louis Organization--I inherited a copy of the original Charles Scribner's Sons book wherefrom the script was drawn.)
