  1. talk to your counselor at school for advice.
  2. It is wonderful to hear and know you have set goal in your early life. You should pursue general medicine at the primary. After you are accepted to a medical school, you then decide which field you really are interested. You will need to concentrate in biological sciences, chemistry and mathematics. Foreign languages are great to have. You will need to maintain or close to 4.0 GPA. There are a lot of smart kids out there to compete just a handful of spots in medical school. There are many medical school students drop out after the first year in graduate school. The hours as an intern is terrible. Once you are able to handle the ridiculous demand of the hours and course studies; you learn what really interest you most. I personally have three children in the medical fields, child psychiatry, general dentistry and veterinarian medicine. They all want to be a doctor while they entered high school. While they completed they undergraduate studies, they decided which fields of medicine interested them most. I am sure you see my points. Good luck to our future doctor(s)! Yes, you have mentioned money. We all want to mak a lot of money, do we? Sports medicine makes okay money in the $400-$500k, if you are cut out for the broken bones and surgeries. Plastic surgeons make in the million dollar range. It is too early to think money right now. Don't bring that up when you are applying medical school. You will not be accepted when you bring that up at all. Players in sports make a lot more than doctors.
