Will I not get a good job if I have a low GPA?

I'm currently getting a BSEE. I really love electronics and I'm happy to bring myself to study the subject and anything related to it, but I have a hard time focusing on the things I'm not interested in such as: Economics, Research methods, and many other general education courses. I have good grades in subjects such as Technical Calculus, Technical Mathematics, and any electronics course. But when you look at my GPA, the bad seems to outweigh the good. Does it mean I want find a good jo.b or have a successful career? I'm a little discouraged by it

  1. having a low GPA doesn't nessisarily mean you will get a bad job. yes in many cases it can. but you say you are good at tech stuff? thats a growing industry. there are plenty of trade positions in this field you can go for that pay well that train you rather then going to school for it.
  2. I think most people really give a lot more weight to personality than grades when hiring. Yeah, it could be a barrier if you are going into academics or looking for a really competitive job. Just do what you do and graduate. Once you get your foot in the door and get some sort of job after school no one will likely ever look at your grades again anyway. I know a lot of people who I go to school with that make great grades but are total morons with no common sense. Any idiot can memorize a bunch of stuff.
