What are some career options for someone joining the workforce after a gap of ten years?

My sister has a diploma in software and used to work as a trainer teaching computer skills to employees of large corporations. This was ten years ago in India. Then she got married, moved to the USA, and became a stay-at-home mom. Now she wants to get an education and go back to the workforce. She intends to continue living in the States. What are some good career options for her? Thank you for any ideas. She is open to switching fields, need not be computer related jobs.

  1. become a teacher. She can use the credit from her IT diploma, get additional classes, and get accredited for teaching, if she get a Master in teaching even better. In the US there is a lack of teachers, plus it provide a lot of flexible hours and vacations, good pension plan. Nobody will ask you what you have done before and nobody will bother you why you stop for 10 years (because all the parents have kids and school understnad kids needs).
  2. If your sister has been a stay at home mum, why does she not consider a home based business where she could work part time, have a team of others who would help her become successful, could earn whilst she learned what she would need to know to create a very substantial income. The reason I am suggesting this is I know of a tremendous opportunity which is endorsed by the multi billionaire Donald Trump, which operates in the US and which one day will be opening up in India. If she has family and friends in that country and if she can build a business in the US, then she could build a fantastic lifestyle for herself and her family. 3. Well, she should first start seeing what she likes to do because at this time she should enjoy what she is doing... Once she figures that out then go for education if need be... So companies hire you and pay for your education so she needs to do a back ground check first then go from there....
