How do I start again after a stale career search and a not so good reason for leaving my last job?
I'm an interior designer by trade and haven't been able to find a job in almost a year. I am looking/have been looking for a job the entire time, but when it comes down to the interview, the same two questions always comes up. Why haven't you worked in the past year? Why did you leave your last job? Then I never hear from the employer again. Truth is I quit my last job because I didn't like the way management was running the store (was a retail sales position) and I wasn't getting along with the assistant manager. So my question is what is the best response to these questions? I'm hoping to recieve a well qualified answer from someone who has been through this or from someone who would be hiring in this field.
