Full Careers

I am looking for a Job. I earned an Industrial Engineering degree in Dec. 2002? Advice?

My brother-in-law opened a new Chiropracti office when I graduated and I worked there to help him out. Now, 3 years later, I am ready to move on. I liked being an office manager for my brother-in-law and want an executive assistant/office manager position in Manhattan (and I thought the experience would help me get that position). Now, should I tell people that my brother-in-law was the Doctor and I worked for him (would that cheapen the experience)? If I find it tough to find an executive asssitant/office manager job with an engineering degree, is it too late for me to start an Engineering career or a career in technology, since I did not do Engineering for 3 years (althouhg I used some Engineering skills in the Chiropractic office - website development, patient in-flow/out-flow, etc.)? Thank You.

  1. Contact the school you graduated from. Almost every school has a Career Center/Career Resource Center, and they offer services to graduates, too. You should be able to work with them to update your resume, look through job postings and get some pointers on the current job market. Good luck, hope it helps!
