- The term that you use, "estate agent" is a term that is used in Emgland as I recall. I am in the UnitedStates, the equivalent in the United States would be real estate agent. In the United States real estate agents are very poorly trained. I would not recommend that anyone become a real estate agent. I am a real estate investor. I work primarily with attorneys and appraisers. I do not work with real esate agents because I do not see that they have anything of value to offer. I recommend that you consider law with a specialty in real estate rather than becoming an extate agent. If the law does not suit you, I recommend that you consider training as a real estate appraiser. Make certain that the training that you get really qualifies you to be a competent real estate appraiser. In the United States there are hundreds of what we call "diploma mills" that give you some training and a piece of paper that says that you are trained as a real estate appraiser. However the quality of the training in these diploma mills is so poor that you are not really trained and qualified to be a competent real estate appraiser. In the United States the only organization that really has proper training is The Appraisal Institute. You might want to see if they have something comparable to that in England.
