Will it ever be possible for me to be a Veterinarian?
Ever since I was in Kindergarten I always wanted to be a Veterinarian... now i'm in grade 9, and i'm starting to think that my dream is impossible. My school is small and doesn't have that many varietys of classes to take, and in my science class right now i'm only getting a 70 percent, but i'm trying really heard to get better, and in my math class I got a 75 percent, but a 90 in the exam. I'm took all academic classes too (the harder ones). I heard off career cruising that you need to get high marks in your classes, but i'm not getting exceptionly high marks. i'm really worried I won't get in, because the schools are so competetive, theres only like 3 or 4 Vet schools in Canada. I'm starting to think a Vet Tech might be a better idea for me, but the pay isn't very good. What else can I do to higher my chances of getting into a vet school? I'm trying to get higher marks and i'm thinking about going to a vet hospital for community service.

- you can do it,just try putting some extra effort into it.If you have a dream you want to pursue, reach for the stars and you can make it!Start researching some colleges that you could be eligible for that teach veterinary stuff.Who knows,if you do very well in vet tech classes you may even recieve a scholarship!Good luck!
- follow your dreams...being a vet would be awesome! dont ever give up. i think its a good idea to volunteer, it will prove to the colleges that you are serious, and have a strong love for animals and helping them.
- If you believe in yourself anything could happen. Don't waste time by the computer, T.V, or going out shopping or stuff. Get to the books and start memorizing and learning. Trust your believeth. You can do it! The only way to accomplish is study encourage and push. Push as in "must keep on studying". Good Luck! I believe in you!
- 1st, you have to WANT it bad enough. Don't settle for so-so grades get higher ones. If your school has a 4-H program or an Ag. class you need to be in that. Study vet stuff over the computer, volunteer at a local animal control center or vet office over the summer. This will show dedication and n interest in it. Learn as much as you can! ~Good Luck~
- For grades, try your best. Next, you want to apply to a vet office. Working in the field will get the vet schools to look at your application more seriously than a person who has slightly better grades than you but has never worked in a vet office. Vet schools are very competitive. They don't want to waste a spot in their school to somebody who doesn't know what its like in the veterinary field and will end up dropping out cause "its not for them". Also don't rule out going out of Canada for Grad school. There are a bunch of Vet schools in the U.S. and internationally. Michigan State has a great vet program and that is close to Cananda. There is a vet school in Ireland and on St. Kits down in the Carribean Islands. Also, some states have a "contract" with Vet schools. This means if you live in that state that does that they are more willing to take you into their program. You would need to live in that state for a year before enrolling but it doesnt hurt. Good luck!
- sure sweaty just study
- It matters more about your grades in college than your grades in high school. I know, at least in the US, you need at least a 3.5 to even be competitive in the application process. I would just research the vet schools and see what their first years (the first year students) have made in their undergrad studies.
- I am in the same boat. I thought being a vet would be to hard (getting into the shool) and started considering being a vet tech instead. that's nice considering you can go from highschool right into two years of vet tech and then you're done. however, i talked to two vets who both said go for being a vet. it's more school but if you really love it it will be fun. there's a program called (i don't know how to spell it but you say it WI-KEE, WIKIE maybe?) that lets you pay in state tuition out of state. (your state pays for the rest) The vets told me if you keep your grades up (3.8 and up) and you can get in with WIKIE(?) there's a garenteed entry into vet school. (because they know that state will pay as opposed to loans) good luck, you can become a vet just get good grades. :)
- if you put your mind to it, work hard anything is possible! never take no as an answer
- Hello. The only limitations you have are the doubts in your mind. Think of you goals-stick to the positive thoughts in your mind. You can do it-make it happen. If you desire it-go for it. You will do it.Read "THE SECRET" or watch the DVD. I have faith in you.
- would u be my vet? lol! but yeah i believe in u and believe u can do it but try a LITTLE harder then that would be great! or you can climb through a window and beat up a kid, steal their clothes, put it on and pretend to be them and use their idendity and then u will be sure 2 learn something! note: please do not actually climb through a window or beat up a kid it will not get u in the school it will just get u in jail!
