Can you get a Career Development Loan if you have a really bad credit rating?
I assumed they were loaned form the Government but now I find out that they come from High Street Banks. As we couldn't even get a mortgage from the high street banks because of our credit rating how likely are they to let you have a CDL? I'm thinking not very likely and wonder if its even worth bothering to apply. It seems very unfair - the reason people have bad credit ratings is because of (well in our case) drop in income and financial problems and retraining is a way to remedy this (in the hope it enables you to get a better job), so why should people be prevented from retraining by their credit rating? What does the Government have to say about this?

- Totally agree. I wanted to apply for a CDL but got put off when they said that in order for me to get the loan, I would be credit checked by the 2 banks to determine whether or not I was successful. I spoke to a member of staff who said that they can make some exceptions and can look into it on an individual basis. But personally I'm not too convinced.

- Have seen lots of people asking info on bad credits. Well, if you need to get your problem solved on<!--bad credit, you must know to how to confront it. Of course, Even if you have bad credit, you can get loans. Many factors can contribute to someone getting a "bad credit" rating, among these are non-payment of an account or late payments over an extended length of time. You may find a bad credit loan here, http://badcredits.awardspace.com/ You may find want you want. You can easily be labelled as a bad credit risk by financial companies. This can make it more difficult to-->arrange loans or other finance, and usually means you will pay more interest on any loan you take out.
