Can you get a Career Development Loan if you have a really bad credit rating?

I assumed they were loaned form the Government but now I find out that they come from High Street Banks. As we couldn't even get a mortgage from the high street banks because of our credit rating how likely are they to let you have a CDL? I'm thinking not very likely and wonder if its even worth bothering to apply. It seems very unfair - the reason people have bad credit ratings is because of (well in our case) drop in income and financial problems and retraining is a way to remedy this (in the hope it enables you to get a better job), so why should people be prevented from retraining by their credit rating? What does the Government have to say about this?

  1. Totally agree. I wanted to apply for a CDL but got put off when they said that in order for me to get the loan, I would be credit checked by the 2 banks to determine whether or not I was successful. I spoke to a member of staff who said that they can make some exceptions and can look into it on an individual basis. But personally I'm not too convinced.

  3. Have seen lots of people asking info on bad credits. Well, if you need to get your problem solved on<!--bad credit, you must know to how to confront it. Of course, Even if you have bad credit, you can get loans. Many factors can contribute to someone getting a "bad credit" rating, among these are non-payment of an account or late payments over an extended length of time. You may find a bad credit loan here, http://badcredits.awardspace.com/ You may find want you want. You can easily be labelled as a bad credit risk by financial companies. This can make it more difficult to-->arrange loans or other finance, and usually means you will pay more interest on any loan you take out.
