What would you tell a friend to convince him or her of the importance of being proactive in one’s career development and finding an employer that is career development oriented?

- I'd ask them where they see themselves in 2 years time. If it's any different from exactly where they are now, I'd ask if there's anything that would need to change in their current approach to ensure they get there.
