Career Change....??

Ok, here it is, I don't like my job or the industry I work in. I have a BA in Criminology and I am a case manager working in a big city court system, I hate working with this particular population, I don't want the "counsel" these people, I really don't care about them too much, they're criminals who have bad attitudes. I'm just not Satisfied with the career choice I made. I plan on having kids in the next 2 yrs and I would like a job that I can make at least $40,000/yr in that is FLEXIBLE. I may have to go back to school and take a few classes but I prefer not to have to get my master’s degree. I like dealing with the facts, things that have a straightforward answer/solution,I don’t like math or science, I like working with people, I’d like to do something I can be proud of. I just never felt like there is something I want to be, I didn’t grow up saying this is what I’m going to do when I get older. So basically, flexible career, $40,000/yr, not too much effort to put into it. Has anyone ever felt at all similar to this and what did they do about it, does anyone have a job like I’m describing and what it is?/ I know this question is so strange but if anyone can offer some insight, I would really appreciate it.

  1. Try working a similar job, just in a different place, maybe a smaller city.
  2. well, a job that is so stressful for you and only pay's $40k is not worth it. There are many jobs for Criminology major in the state or federal systems without counseling people. If you want to completely just work for $40k and don't care if it relates to your degree then I suggests going through monster jobs and look for customer service in the insurance industry(GEICO) no responsibility pays well and if you go back to school they work with your work and school schedule so later when you want to have kids you can do what you have to do and by that time you might like your job that you can make $50k+ with annual bonuses as well.
  3. OK! Are you really ready to make a change.I have seen this happen and I am suggesting it because I really beleive you could be up there with the best.Sell Mary Kay. Your hours are what you want to make them. With your degree,it would be easy to get out there and talk to people. This job requires customer service. You would be great.I know big difference from what you do now.You have to enjoy your job.You do not right now. Here is a plan they gave me.3 months to get the cadillac and be making commission checks of 5-7 thousand a month. That does not count all the other money you will make. Those checks are just extra. You can spend 17.5 hrs.a week and make it to cadillac status. The great thing about this job is that you decide how much you want to make. You can easily make your 40k or more.
  4. You can get your insurance license and check out www.naafutureagents.com $40k is very attainable working part time. Not every insurance sales job is the same, so check deeper into it. Talk to agents from different areas to know what they are doing. Send me an email and I will let you sit in on a conference call to hear how things are going with NAA. Good Luck!
