Career in science?
Im a grade 11 H.S student and am struggling with career choices. I have been thinking and thinking and i've researched every possible career and what it takes to get there (some tell me i'm prepared to be a Career Guidance Counseller :D) but i wouldn't like that. Anyways, what i DO know is i do not like economics, or the "business" lifestyle in general. I am very interested in human biology, social sciences and english. I was seriously considering taking courses (Chemistry, Biology) that would lead to a career in sciences. There is only ONE problem : i am very weak in mathematics (i have trouble PASSING, forget getting a reasonable mark) So my question is, is it still possible to get into a science-based career (medicine, pharmecuticals, etc) without very strong math marks? Thanks for taking the time to answer!

- I sucked in math too. Its not going to ruin your chances if you don't get great marks in math. If you are serious enough about your future then you should take some extra math courses in high school to prepare you for university. After you graduate from high school, take any math courses you need in the summer at a community college. Often you can take these at night so they don't interfere with work, etc. Check to make sure that the courses transfer to a university: They usually do. This way you can concentrate on them, and its easier to get good marks at CC. I did this for one of my Physics courses too. (another subject that I sucked at too, but I got a B). What you don't want to do is go to university with a full course load and attempt math there. Best to you
