Gimme a list of the top paying careers nowadays...and if possible how much education is needed for them...?

  5. I just read today about the growing shortage of qualified people in the petroleum industry. They need petroleum or chemical engineers, but any type of engineer is good, or physicist even. *Starting* salary, straight out of college, can be $95,000 including signing bonus. You need a BS in those engineering fields. MS probably would be better. That's huge money for 23 or 24 years old. Even manual labor in the oil business gets paid a lot if you're willing to go to where it's needed. Check out the Athabaskan old sands, near Fort MacMurray, north of Edmonton, Alberta. Unpleasant place to work, but big pay. For the manual labor, a HS education is probably enough.
