Top 10 careers that actually help people?

I want a job that helps people. I am thinking about psychology and history as a major and minor. What would be good. Your answers don't have to be related to that. Thanks.

  1. im considering financial management. im majoring in accounting with a minor in management. i want to help people who dont know how ot manage their money and help keep their dept under control. psychology is a good major to though. im taking psychology this semester and i have really learned alot.
  2. Well, in my opinion, the top two careers that help people are 1. Doctors and 2. Teachers. So pyschology would be a great major if you want to help people! Other important careers would include goverment related jobs (police, firefighters, social workers, etc.) and bankers/financial advisors.
  3. Many careers help to some extent. Here are some careers that I would recommend Teaching- Definitely a job for those that want to shape the future leaders. Not a ton of pay but stable, summers off and good pensions Nursing- Very high demand field, good money, get to help people on a daily basis Police/Fire/Military- They put their lives on the line every day to make the world safer and ensure quality of life. Whatever your politics or idealogy, I think it is safe to say that people do not choose these professions for the money, but for the effect they feel they cna have on society. Social work- Low pay, but you get to help and protect those that are less fortunate Veterinarian- Sure, you are mostly helping animals, but I think that it takes a certain altruistic person to go into this field. This field is not super lucrative despite requiring most of the training of a "regular" Dr. Vets get to help people's pets that bring joy to their lives or help injured animals
  4. Financial planner. Unfortunately, people don't realize that they need financial counsel as badly as they need a family physician; in many cases more so. The planner's job description is basically the same as a doctor's or attorney's, just practicing a different discipline. They are no more salesmen than are surgeons who "sell" operations or attorneys who "sell" wills, estate plans, or legal representation.
