- marine biology. i have a business degree, but did exceptionally well in the biology courses i took and enjoyed them too. im hoping to get a marine bio degree and open my own marine fish store. just a thought, plus you get to do your course work at the beach ;)
- Go into the medical field.
- do something for your country, join the military
- Maybe look into telecommunications. Your degree will get you in the door. Companies the size of AT&T and Verizon have jobs in almost every field imaginable.
- join telecom sector
- Get a law degree and pass the patent bar. Electrical engineers are in demand for patent prosecution (ie, writing patents). Alternatively, you can just pass the patent bar and be a patent agent, and do many of the same things.
- you can get a job in fields that can apply some of your knowledge as an electronics engr, like medical device engineering, manufacturing, construction, technical sales, programming, quality assurance (software and manufacturing), patent law (the USPTO is hiring A LOT of people). or you can digress from it a little and look at finance and the stock market. i know that companies like Capital One look for engineers for their data analysis positions, since we (i am a EE too) have the analytical skills. the stock market looks for engineers as investors for the same reason. other options to look at are financial engineering or actuarial science (they require higher education, though). if you have sales or customer service experience, there are really cool jobs like Clinical Specialists in medical device industries. the job requires that you monitor a set number of hospitals, sell them your product, watch the surgery and make sure that they devices are used correctly, and provide technical support. you would have to be on call, just like a doctor, but you get paid really well too.
