Career change??

I currently work in an office in a small town and am considering leaving to have a career change, for something that i should love. I believe that you should enjoy your job and look forward to going to work everyday. (I have been in this job for 3 years - is it too soon to leave??) The careers i have in mind are - primary school teacher, i know i would need to go back to college and then uni etc.... OR....cabin crew. Its something that i have been interested in to for years, which may mean that i have to move away from where i live now. Does any one have any suggesions?? Ta, :o)

  1. i fink yes new job 3 years is long enought u need to b happy only live once go for the kid job and save for the 1 wen u move away good luk
  2. The Cabin Crew sounds like a good one, you could see the world at the same time, good luck
  3. You could do both in one by working as cabin crew and studying with the Open University, thus not having to go to away to uni to become a teacher. Think about what you really want from your career and do a list of pros and cons for both options. Good luck. 3 years is not too soon to leave, but research your options before you leave a secure job though. Don't stay somewhere that leaves you unhappy though
  4. go for it you will only regret it in the future if you don,t Good luck
  5. 3-5 yrs is usually the norm and it looks like you fall between the range. If you have a strong desire to pursue a different career, then definietly shoot for it. The decision to become a school teacher or part of a cabin crew is ultimately up to you. What are your long term goals? You may want to do some volunteer work involving children to gain some further insight....good luck!
  6. Try the cabin crue first, as if u dont like it u might easily quit and go to uni. Whereas if u first try the 2nd option and go to uni - and dont like it - it will be more complicated to quit. Anyway, its always better to see a bt of the world and have fun travelling before settling down for a career like a teacher... :-)

  8. Just for a minute, don't worry about any dificulties each choice might have. Just ask yourself which one you'd really like to do. Notice which one gives you the nicest feeling. That's the one you should aim for. Then plan how you can best fulfill that ambition. There is no upper or lower time limit for you to stay in your job - just an intelligent plan to help you fulfill your dream. Good luck O :-) Jon C
  9. could do both open uni for teachin and cabin crew hands on gud luck.
  10. Log on to www.ytb.com/pharoah and click on presentation. All you need is a computer and you already use this.Join now and take advantage of a $7 Trillion Industry. I have 2 degrees and I have made six figures, I make more doing this business.
  11. there is another way to look at this. ask yourself what is it that you do not like in the job you have and see if you can change that by either renegotiating or finding another employer. you have 3 years experience that you can build on. often we are looking for something in a Job that has nothing to do with the job and we can only find it within ourselves. grass is greener etc etc
  12. You only live once so go for it & Good Luck
  13. Donald Trump says if you're not happy at your current job, you may be miserable. The airline business is horrible to be in but you'll probably be better off in that (if you love it enough) than being some place where you're not happy. Having said that, it's time to do some soul searching to find out what you really really want from life.I believe I can help you figure this out..it's...well it's what I do and it's fun. COntact me if you wish.
  14. of course it's not soon to leave, if you feel you,ve achieved everything to its full potential why hang around for the sake of it, lifes too short you should be doing a job you love you deserve that at least! I'm making a big change and leaving a very good job i love to work on cruise ships this yr, its scary but a Gd experience. I was once told "whatever you dont like in your life, change it so your happy!"
  15. I say, go for your dreams!!! I am currently working at Lowes, but I am going to college to get a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice so I can be a Police Officer. (This is my life long dream) You want to be happy in your career, and you do not want to dread going to work your entire life. Fight for your dreams no matter how far you must go. You will be so happy in the end, once you succeed... Good luck with your dreams!!!!!!!!
  16. You are correct in your thinking that you should enjoy your job, but don't do anything rash. It will be worth the strain of sticking with what you have until you are able to get the education you need to assure success in your new adventure. As for the moving away it would just depend on how you handle your own independence and how close you are to the people you currently have in your life. Good luck.
  17. Of course it is always a good time to pursue a career that you love! I went back to school after age 30 and love my career now. I enjoy helping people and having the opportunity to travel all over the country. If you are young, then by all means go for it!! Three years is a good time to be at a job. You have showed that you are reliable, committed, and able to be focused. Enjoy your new opportunities.
