career aptitude test: can i defy it?

i took a career aptitude test, and it said that my field is ISTP jobs. i wanted to be a fashion designer! or a forensic detective. or an attorney.. is an attorney/lawyer in istp? please let me knw if can become any of these things i want instead of kike a engineer or salesman or project maneger!

  1. You can become anything you want to be. You took some version of the Myers-Briggs test. While it tells you some of your preferences, it is not appropriate to use it to choose your career, or eliminate careers. If you want to be an architect, or a fashion designer, the fact that you got an ISTP tells you that you will have to work on being a little more extroverted. ISTP would be pretty good for most engineering careers, though..

  3. A career aptitude test is not the final word on what is best for you. The test is just supposed to give you indicatiors of what you could do. A career decision is reached by reading about the career, interviewing people who are already in it and observing them at work. Peace and blessings!
