how would I send a letter to the president, state senators, governors requesting help 4 my AF son to reenlist?

My son is a Senior Airman, weather forcaster in the Air Force. He is due for re-enlistment in October 06 and would like to continue his enlistment. He and his wife were recently blessed with twin daughters but because of the difficulty of multiple births he missed submitting part of his paperwork for re-enlistment by the required date and now is told that he may not be able to re-enlist. He has won numerous awards during his military service and just passed his test for Staff Sargeant. It would be a terrible waste to not allow such an fine young man to continue his military career. Any suggestions to help him with this process would be greatly appreciated.

1. Tell your son to see the military career counselor at his command - their job is to keep people in the military. I'm sure that he would be glad to help your son stay in.
2. call a local recruiting office i am sure they would be able to help, too at least lead you in the right direction.

First off, Dead Mike is correct, but also, go to Yahoo! and look up your STATE'S government site, like for me it would be, http://www.arkansas.gov/ Then locate your "State Senators" addresses and e-mail addresses and let them know his predicament. Also, its best that "he too" write and let them know, as it sounds more official and not "second hand information." Then they are more apt to help him, knowing that this IS his wish. Also, with all the BAD PRESS on enlistment, they need people who are already trained and in service compared to people who "might wash out in boot camp" costing the government untold money in waste. 7. I want to be in the military. He Needs to talk to someone who can help him or another officer. Tell him to talk to the person who got him enlisted into the military.

9. Honestly I do not know if they will let him stay in. When applying for you CJR (Career Job Reservation) its not a one day thing and if you miss out on it then you are kicked out. You actually have about a year to apply for it. The fact that he was busy at the time will not work. The AF is going through a reshaping program and are making lots of cuts in the AF and Weather is one of the agencies they are making cuts from. Your son may have the chance to cross train into another job. If it doesnt work out and he wants to stay in the millitary you can have him look into the program I went through. The "Blue to Green" program allows members from the other services to get out of there current branch and join the Army. He will most likely even get to continue his career in weather but he will be working for the Army.
