difference between programs for a PhD and a Masters degree?
What is the time and difference between going for a PhD and a Master Degree in Human Services/Counseling? Which is best for which career path?

- Usually the Masters comes first, the the PhD. As far as I know, you won't get accepted to a PhD program unless you have a masters, and have done well in the masters program. A masters usually takes from a year to two years, while a PhD can take anywhere from two years to five years, depending on the program and how much time you have to devote to it.
- You MUST have a Masters degree before you get a PhD, which is more difficult and more specialized than the lower degree.
