Is there a one year program I can take to learn IT computer services?
I want a career change. But at 47 yrs old, I don't want to spend 4 years in college to do so. I want to be one of the people at the "help desk" who troubleshoot computer problems for office workers.

- Places like Heald College offer short programs in computers and other things. Junior colleges offer 2 year programs. I'm a software engineer. You pretty much can't get a job as a software engineer without a B.S. degree. But any knowledgeable person can get some help desk/customer support jobs. They don't pay a lot, though, and many of the companies that have them run them like sweat shops.
