Limiting terms in public office?
Here's the thing. Wether or not you agree or disagree with our president, guess what? He cannot run again for the office of pres. Why is it that we do not have the same restrictions in place for other politicians in public office?? I'm tired of "career minded" individuals running our country and localities. the public office is supposed to be a SERVICE not a Career!!! what do you all think?

- I think you are 100% correct. It's the only way to take back our government. Good observation!
- I Agree. Personally I think that 2 Terms in US Senate , which would be 12 years, is plenty for them to get something done. I think that US representatives terms being 2 years is actually too short as they end up spending half of their term running for office again. Make their term 3 or 4 years and limit them to 3 terms maybe.
- I think you hit the nail right on the head. And this isn't a partisan issue. How many of these men and women go to Washington and then return home millionaires? My congressman ran initially with the promise of self-imposed term limits. I have been a proponent of term limits for many years and took him at his word. Well guess what? When his "term" was up, he informed his constituents that, for the good of the nation, he was going to remain in office! I believe that Senators should get one 6 year term and Representatives should get two 2 year terms.
