Career decision?

I am one the the victims of outsourcing that everyone hears about. Unfortunately, I don't have higher education and it is not an immediate option. I do have some management experience and am wondering about careers in fast food management, convenience store management, and auto tire and service center management. Specifically, I am interested in finding out salary levels, number of hours per week average, benefits, and opportunities to advance in each type of job. I am open to suggestions also. Thanks.

  1. Retail and Hospitality Management are good options. I'd check out www.hospitality.net You can find more specific things by searching the big job boards - that will give you salary info in your area. Finally, you may need to take a step back and go through a management trainee program - but it really is a different type of management than anything else. Best of luck!
  2. the Bureau of Labor Statistics website will have a lot of info: http://www.bls.gov/. http://www.salary.com/ might also be of help
  3. why not take a free career aptitude test here http://gsx1.com/FreeAptiTest.htm then perhaps you might get offered something at the end. also see http://www.job--listings.info once you know what you want to be you will find professional resume writing resources and a huge numbers of places where you can submit your resume for free. There is an impressive number of jobs being offered there, and it's free to join each site. Good luck in your search!
