I need career advice, what services are out there?

What I need more specifically is a career service that will help advise me on transferring my specialised skills to the US (to be with my family)

2. It sounds like you are trying to emigrate from Britain to the US. Although I have no experience with this, it will be difficult to find a firm in the US who can help you find employment unless you have a very useful, specific skill that is somewhat rare in the US. Not impossible, mind you, since Microsoft here in Seattle manages to get hundreds if not thousands of Indians and Chinese to come work for them stating they can not find qualified US employees! One alternative may be working for a multinational company that has postings in the US. In that case, I'd work with a company in the British city in which you reside. If you have graduated from an institution of higher learning, you can ask for assistance from that institution. Also, since you state you have family in the US, you might want to ask them for advice as they could probably root someone out in the locality in which they reside. Anyway, I would love to be in Britain since, as a member of the EU, I could work in France or anywhere else in Europe if I wanted!
3. It looks like Cyn is right, you are trying to emigrate? If you have specialized skills or a Master's it is easier. But the right idea is to contact large, multinational companies. Also, search the big job boards - some companies will help with green cards. Finally, if you have family here - they can sponsor you. I don't know what the rules are, but it might be worth looking into! Best of luck!
