What is the best profiling test for careers and/or personality?

I have taken the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory tests about 2 years ago. They are expensive, but now I am not too sure it they were that accurate, perhaps I read through the problems. I am really looking for a test that is cost effective and functional. I have an idea of what I want to do; I just need to validate it with something concrete, so that I can continue my reasearch on the matter. FREE tests would be GREATLY appreciated.

  1. Myers Briggs is an excellent test. You may not like your results, but they reveal the person you are on the inside and the person others see. What is great about it is that it helps you see that everyone is unique and we need all types in the workplace. (I am an ENTP). Why do you think you need a profiling test to become what you want professionally? A test will not prove anything and can't take into account hard work, persistence, goal-setting, intelligence, etc.
  2. They are both very accurate. I took both. My teacher said that the strong is more accurate and stable if taken by 25 year olds and up.
  3. they have some free career test at joblinkinfo dot com in their free section good luck
  4. Hahaha, yeah, it looks like your in the right place. It is good to question your understanding about who you think you are, but bear-in-mind that no one else will ever be able to tell you who you are. Not even a test, in fact, I believe Myers-Briggs, and the Strong are interperated by a councelor of some sort. It is up to you to determine what can be done with the results. They can be 100% false, but they usually aren't, and they may be 100% correct, all you have to do is pick and choose from which traits work for you, which you would like to acquire, and what will take you to the place in life you need to go.
