- You can be an RN with an AS degree after completing a year in nursing you can chalenge the Licensed Practical Nurse while still in school. Being a Nursing Aid able you to get your feet at the door.
- My associates was through the community college (which was a whole lot cheaper then tech school) and i worked as a aide through school. The hospital i work at now will allow you to work as a tech and help pay for an associates degree.RN through another community college, and pay you for the tech work you are doing. i will assume your state has RN with asociates degree. If it is a compact state , your associates degree will tranfer to any other state in the compact (which is an agreement between states to accept accredited associates degrees for transfer to work within any of the states, but some tech school degrees might not meet that standard), I would go to the website of your state board of nursing and ensure that the tech school is accredited through them and how highly they are rated by the state board. if the school is not certified by your state board find another school that is. Do Not Believe Recruiters! Check with the local large hospitals and see who else might be willing to pay for the degree. i have seen too many young people in a terrible mess because of schools taking the money from student loans and then dropping the students if they miss two days of class or make them pay for another semester. Be careful. P.S. I started in the laundry, they will take an aide.
