Helping me determine what career to get into ?
Im a 16 year old student who has just done his exams and recieved the results. I done well in my exams and have decided to stay on at school. I am currently in 5th Year. Basically i have not got much of an idea what i want to do for a career when im older, and im also not sure if even staying on at school for me right now is the best thing to do as i feel im not learning anything new from it. I enjoy computing and am good with computers so i thought about getting into computing career. However im not sure if i want to spend my career sitting with computers. Law is another rthing i thought of getting into as it interests me and i think i would enjoy it. Does anyone have any ideas of what my next move should be as to what im going to do ? - Well, unfortunately grade school doesn't give us many options to consider BEFORE entering college: Teacher, lawyer, fireman, policeman, and doctor. Hands down, the best career to enter is a career that offers you limitless growth potential and is something that you LOVE to do. You sound pretty artsy, and since you like computers, how about editing movie and television. It's a fun computer job that doesn't get stale and makes big big bucks. Also, there is a huge markey out there for computer gaming and stuff. Check out www.salary.com or www.vailt.com. They list job descriptions for basically every job on the planet with their earning potential. That could help you decide. Good luck!
- Since you're sixteen, your mind might change tons of times, or you might decide lawyer or computing and be done with the whole thing. No matter what happens to you, never overlook any career as it just may be your dream job in the future. Most teachers, if you ask them, looked into different jobs, but then they realized their real passion is kids, and became teachers. For example, I used to think I was afraid of blood and would never want to be a doctor, but it's only my own blood I'm scared of, and now my dream job is an RN in the hospital. No matter what you choose, make sure you're happy with it, and also, you don't need to choose a career today, just think about the possibilities out there.
