What is needed to become a career counselor in NY?
I'm planning to change careers. All the assesment tests indicate counselor to be my best career choice. I could go for MSW clinical social work, but need $ to pay off old tuition bill, then finish BA.

- I went the human resources route, but am finding I will still need a counselling degree in order to do this. It may be different in New York, but from all indications this is true almost everplace in the U.S.
- look at www.iona.edu under career oporunties for a current open position. most places require a BA or MA with experience in HR or counseling studnets. good luck
