How to succeed in finding a job when you have never been Outgoing? ANd you don't have the speaking skills that other people your age have built up since they were kids. For example me, i suck at speaking. I try to speak but nothing comes out correctly.. i stutter, i get red, and the few times i've gotten interviews i fail miserably. I've failed for 1 year at job searching, what can i do? My city has no Career counseling center. ALl they have is a Work resource center for using cmputers to find jobs.. that doesn't help me much

Times New Roman font typed essay in which you discuss the following: a. What did the Counseling Center Career Assessment Inventory results indicate as your areas of interest? b. Do these assessment results confirm or contradict your chosen major and career interests? c. Summarize the information you found about the career and major researched. Can anyone help me with deciding a career? I am asking for help from anyone who can help guide me to the best possible career for me. I want to find an online college that offers an associates degree in health and nutrition for children. I want to go work for my local Children's Medical Center, or If I can't get there, then I want to work with children. Children make me happy and they make me laugh. Having a career working with them would make my life less stressful and I hope I can make a really good living by doing that. I have looked and looked for online colleges, and haven't seen any that offer associate degrees in wellness and nutrition(or health). I have seen respiratory,occupational,and physical therapist assistant degrees, but I am afraid those are hard to understand careers. Why do Employment Agencies assume everyone is OUTGOING? Sure they teach how to do good at Interviews, they have this workshops for resumes and so on.. But they are missing the point on some of us job seekers. Some of us don't have any social skill and are really terrible with speaking. So you askk them if they have any career counseling. And they don't.. All they have is workshops which only help talkative people. And you also have computers to look for jobs. That's all. Luckly today i found out the elocal college has A career counseling center... But in all the employement centers and temp agencies, it's like they seee a shy/iintrovert person.. and they don't know what advice to give at all. They don't even offer counseling..just "You can use the computers to search" If you're shy/not very social..that not goonna help in any way cause most jobs in ads are geared toward the outgoing people. We OTHERs need some kind of direction on where to look for jobs that will accept us.

Grad school for marketing, pr, or advertising? Hi folks, So I'm in a bind, or 'that moment in my life'. Come spring I will be a graduate from college. I'm a communications/film major from a university with a good reputation for those programs, but my GPA isn't that high (slightly over 3). I would like to do something in the advertising/marketing/pr field, does anyone have any suggestions on what grad schools to look into or how they went about applying? I would like to take a year off to work and clear my mind, then hopefully get into grad school then. I've used petersons.com, gradschools.com but most of it is blind searching, and the career and counseling center @ my school is not too helpful at the moment.

Finance Counseling? This is my family situation in India. My late father had taken several loans on his inherited land property. He repaid almost everything. Almost all the inherited land is sold except a loan of 1.7 lakhs on the only piece of land which belongs to my brother who is now the only earner in our family of three (my mom stays with my brother and I am in US, married but not working). My brother started his career as a CA (he cleared the exam very late) in Jan 2006 and had several pressures during that time (my father was diagnosed with cancer that time and the expenses grew as my father was not earning). My brother would like to be very careful in any expense as he is still paying off the interest on the remaining debt that my father took on the land. He wants to buy a home. Where can I do a Christ centered counselling course? I'm an anger management therapist and would like to change career. I gave my life to Jesus a couple years ago and would now like to counsell people using the principles of Jesus' teachings. Anyone know of a counselling training course that focuses on Christ?

Career Help?!?!? Very soon I will be at the point where I will have to chose what to pursue in college. I very badly want to work with abused children/ teenagers. I want to counsel them in private practice or in a rehabilitation center. What would I need to study?

Switching careers (something with kids?? I have a BA in psych and right now im an outpatient services assistant for a counseling center and a mentor/transporter coordinator. I hate writing people up and be in charge of so many things. I also HATE traveling. I thought about getting my masters so i could counsel but now im thinking i might not want to do that either because of all the traveling for conferences. Looking for employment in Psychology field.? Currently attending college to get my degree and fulfill my dream in working in the field of psychology. I presently work for a pet store chain and it is a beginning of the new year goal to get a new and better job. I have done some research and looked up local hospitals, counseling centers, mental and recovery homes, and the like. I plan on visiting each of these places to inquire about employment. I seem to be stuck in the place where I am either too qualified, or not qualified enough. To me, in a way I wouldn't mind getting coffee and cleaning bathrooms to start out. I just want to get my foot in the door; I just want to be around and in the presence of my future career. What would you do based upon this info? On or about the month of December 2004 I was hired on by the Missouri Department of Corrections at Moberly Correctional Center . While I was there I came in contact with a female employee whom I befriended. On or about March 2005 she and I left with our group to attend the training academy in Jefferson City, while there I made some decisions that did not hold up to my character. On several occasions during after duty hours I consumed alcohol with this particular female. However approximately the third week of training the last one of these occasions occurred with the end result of me being accused of sexual assault and terminated from my employment due to her allegations. The Department of Corrections states that I was terminated for bad conduct for consuming alcohol and being late for class (1day late due to illness & the only other day was the day after the alleged allegation). When I was terminated I appealed this decision because I felt I was being discriminated against however my appeal was denied. Given the facts this other female Individual was consuming alcohol just as often as I was and that she was late to class as often as I, their decision was to allow her to keep her employment but terminate mine. I am under the impression that they believe I actually committed these accusations therefore terminating me for sexual assault, if they were to honestly terminate me for bad conduct for the consumption of alcohol they would have terminated this female individual as well. Regardless of what the Department of Corrections may have in their records they were aware of her actions while in the training academy. I have a letter signed by the Macon County Victims Advocate dated February 7, 2007 which states quote “ I made several telephone calls to law enforcement in Jefferson City and was told upon investigation the overall feeling was that Ms. XXXX made the accusation in order to keep from getting in trouble with her employer for drinking while in training and having relations with a fellow correction officer” this letter also states “ Ms. XXXX had a history of making false allegations in Macon County ”. I have attached this letter. After this incident I filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity but did not follow through due to family emergencies and I had also contacted the State Reps., State Senate, Director of State, the Division Director of Department of Corrections and Superintendant of Moberly Correctional Center their decisions stood final. I also seeked counsel from an attorney in Macon County who wanted much more than I could afford being a single father with 2 children at that time. It wasn’t until recently that I applied for a position as a law enforcement officer with the Travis County Sheriffs Department in Austin , Texas and found that because of the mark on my employment record I would not be able to obtain the position I was longing for. My criminal record is clean, I have many accredited hours in Criminal Justice, I am only being held back from doing what I want to, do due to false accusations from an unbalanced young lady. I am coming forward to all of you in the hopes of clearing my employment record. As giving my all but death to this country as a 6 year veteran with an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, and currently on active duty with the California Air National Guard, I do believe I deserve better than this. i want to be a teen counselor, what do i need to do? I am a high school sophomore. I know exactly what I want to do with my life and what career I want to pursue. I am a christian girl and plan on using that. Although, I don't want my degree to be in Christian Counseling. I want the highest degree you can have in each course. After I get what I need to be a teen counselor, I want to start a job to get used to the job and the thing I will have to do. Then, I want to open a community center for teens and adolesents to come and have fun. Now, Saying all that, what degrees will i have to get? and what colleges in Oklahoma are the best for that? Also, I want to help teens in all areas of life, not just one.

Does this sound like a good plan for me after I get out of college? (quick! Please!)? Right now I am 16, but for awhile I have had it planned out with the counsel of my family who are very supportive. After I get out of college (age 21 or 22) I will have earned a major in business and a minor in exercise physiology. During then I will have lived either on campus on w/ parents- btw, my college is paid for by the military b/c of circumstances where my father was injured on duty. So I won't have student loans to pay off. After college, I will move out and buy my own house and live on my own while working for some company or whatever, while trying to establish a dojo (sortof like a gym, except where you learn karate) and personal training center. I am a martial artist right now and love to teach and want to make it my career. I am also very athletic and love nutrition and fitness and want to become a PT as part of my career. I will maybe rent a building and teach most days and make that sortof like my part time job. Later, if the business grows and becomes sucessful

Can an unwilling spouse change in a positive way? Spouse does not think counseling will work, or does not believe in it, and does not want to work. But she is willing to go to counseling. Will she change her attitude and be open? She wants to know how she can fall in love again once fallen out of love. What do we need to do, even if she puts in 5% and I put in 95%? She needs to see that I love and care about her, and the family is no 1. She is being very self centered right now, and thinks that her suffering, as well me and the kids suffering is ok just because she does not think our relationship will improve and I can change my personality (habits, priorities, kids time, family time, etc.) She thinks I am always career oriented, traveled for work, and will not be able to change at 42. What do you think? Is she being rationale? (She recently has a traumatic event on 12/26 where a family of 5 were killed.. she is not friends but she knows them from church). Help with your thinking please. For this comment: "It will take a lot of open communication and listening on both sides. Be patient. Try rekindling the romance. You can't make someone fall back in love with you if they are unwilling." I am opening up my emotional connection, and try to listen. She really does not have much, but wants to hear what I want to say. I cannot rekindle anything, but prove to her by actions that I love her, care about her and means so much to her. I cannot force anyone to fall in love, but I can show my actions and how they change the things I missed out before to show I love and care and I am doing anything to prove it. I am putting the family and my wife first in my changing habits because family happiness makes me happy. I have never done anything to hurt, but I have failed and disappointed her by not reading her emotional needs and responding in kind. Guys here who are natural at it? I am so confused, and feeling helpless. She is hurting so bad too. We both have lost 12-14 ls in 4days!

Should I work on my 7+ year relationship or end things now? I'm 29 & engaged to my bf (30) of 7 yrs. He has some really great qualities - smart, stable, good career path, will make a great father, faithful, & he helps around the house. However, there are a lot of problems in the relationship. He is very self centered. He chooses where we vacation; I have only been home to see my family once in 7 yrs. We visit his family all of the time. I was ready to get married after 4 yrs & he was not. We only just got engaged. I voiced to him how strongly I felt about trying to start a family by the time I was 30 since the Dr has told me it may be hard for me to conceive. His only answer was, "well I'm not ready for kids." He also is emotionally abusive. He does not curse me nor has he ever physically abused me, but he is always taking personal stabs at me. He always justifies the way he treats me. He is unaffectionate & we hardly ever have sex. This has been a problem the whole 7 yrs. I am lonely & cry all of the time. Stay & try counseling or end it?
