What is a good education/career path for me to take? I currently have a degree in finance and I love the field. I really like to learn about the capital markets and I have very a good aptitude for figures. Also, I love to learn about the law. My favorite class in college was business law. I was considering a joint MBA/JD program at a college near me. On the down side, I feel that my writing skills are not consistent with that of law students. What would be a good career/education choice? Thank you very much.
Would you consider a career in education if your schooling was paid for? Our country is lagging far behind other countries in education. We are also facing a tremendous shortage of teachers in the coming 10 years. Many of the top countries in education pay for the those who choose a degree in education. Some even pay those candidates while they are in college. What would make you consider a career in education?

Military Reserves- where do I pursue my civilian career/education? I'm considering joining the reserves, either Air Force or Marine. Either way, do I pursue a civilian career/education at a location assigned by the military? Oh wait, I think what I'm thinking of is a reserve unit? All I know is that MCAS Miramar is right outside my front door and Camp Pendleton is half an hour away.
What is the requirement for certificate program/career education program? Is it too late now to start my final education and career after? Hello, I have a question to ask you here I am 25 years old. Who is finishing a distance education course in Electronics. Would like to ask you for your opinions. Is it too late to go to an offline College get a degree and a career ? I have been dealing in one way or another with Electronics since being a kid. In School did well but like to fulfill my dream. Such as work with building automation things. Such as Robots, Airplanes and other things. Due to personal and "tragic" reasons did not go to offline College. Gee.... Did I miss my train and no possible future for me to get my final education starting at 25 ? My problems have finally cleared but so have lost time. I would like to have outside opinions from (you) if it is worth even trying. My Mother says it is not yet late to start. But what if she is only saying this to make me feel good? Since I am her Son. Most of my peers already have finished Education. What do you think is my situation helpless? What about financial aid?
I have an IT degree and I want to further my education/career in the medical field, what should I look into? I have been working as a systems analyst at a hospital for a while and I like what I do. I am interested in furthering my career by either getting a secnd degree (i.e. a Healthcare Admin Masters) or possibly becoming and RN/LPN/MA or something along those lines. If anyone has any recommendations that would be very helpful! I know any clinical study would be beneficial, but I also want something that will optimize my career growth and income ;). Thanks!
How do I decide about my future/ education/ career? I have an Associates in Science. I'm going to get a Bachelors, and I can't find any help deciding what to major in. I am interested in Wildlife, Parks and Recreation, Physical fitness, Trail climbing, etc. The easy way out is to major in education and be a teacher, but I want to make the right decision for my future.
How can I have a high-paying career in education? I've heard from countless people that being a teacher is not the best paying career, but i know there are some teachers out there that are paid a lot! What could i do to become one of these teachers? Does it have to do with location? Public or private? Secondary teaching? Experience?
Who fears that their career and education will suddenly be worthless? Question Details: Technology takes jobs over in an instant. The economy can outsource and job security is unheard of now a days. Most employers want a Batchelors degree as a minimum, Masters is the new Batchelors. Does anyone else consider this before landing themselves into massive responsibilites like debts, children, and retirement plans? I fear that the economy flux impacts everyone, and very soon there is going to be a unexpected crisis in the world. I am not fear monger, I just see the trends as a whole. I am alone in this?
Whats the best way to pursue musical theatre career after education? I am a sophomore in college, training in music dance theater. I have done community theater and school theater up until now. But have yet to do a paid show. When I graduate, or before if I should be doing something now to prepare, where should I go and what should I do to work my way up into more prestigious regional theater? And will it be too late to start then? When I am 22? Please help!
I am changing from a legal to education career? I am going into preschool teaching and leaving legal assist? I have been doing this career for 21 years and I am not happy. I love children and worked in day care at my church over the past 5 years and am a foster parent in my state. I think at the age of 40 I am ready for a change. I am totally bored and not gaining any new skills or growth in legal. There is no room for growth or upward transition except if I want to be an attorney which I do not. I believe I am going to take a drastic pay loss of about $10k per year since legal pays so high as opposed to preschool teachers. Is there a way to help me improve my chances of higher income in education other than taking courses and finishing my bachelors which I am doing both.
How am I going to afford an education for a second career? Currently, I am an elementary school teacher, at 27 years of age. I utterly despise my career and attending school to become a doctor. At this point, I will have to resign from my teaching position by December of 2007 to pursue my education full time. I have excellent grades but am not eligible for government aid because I already have a bachelor's degree. In the past, I relied on my academic merit to obtain scholarships and other forms of aid. Now, I don't know what other options I have. The only option I can think of is to take out a student loan to cover my tuition and living expenses. I'm praying a lot, but no help there. LOL!!! I need a lot of encouragement because I'm scared. (Plus, I am not eligible for scholarships because I am taking prerequisites to take the MCAT and enter medical school).
Have a BS in bio, what career education can I obtain other than an MS or PhD? What career option is open for me at this point with my bs and experience in public health and clinical lab? I am currently thinking about getting certified RN, how do I do that with my current degree? I am interested in ASCP certification as well, but how do I get a job that allow me to work side by side with certified pathologist, what I needed to get into the ASCP program.
How to help 12 y/o to choose education and career path? My daughter's counselor told me that since my daughter hasn't already chosen a career or college - that she might as well "give up" trying to make anything of herself and settle for a life of working as a cashier or day care worker. I think she is probably still a little too young to have these decisions set in stone - but it probably wouldn't hurt to find out the kinds of things she has an aptitude for doing. Are there resources I can utilize to help her at least narrow down her choices? I hesitate to put all our efforts into one area since her older sister, at this age, wanted to be a film director but now wants to be a librarian (she's a senior in high school). She is in the advanced lanaguage arts and mathematics classes at her school, and her grades are very good. She isn't allowed to take elective courses for another couple of years - so I am not quite sure what the hurry for decision making is in her case. I think the school is just in a hurry to "sort the cattle". Thanks.
What to do education wise for this career? I want to be an Automechanic when i get out of school but I dont know what college offer courses for this field of work. Also Im in Pre-ap and Ap classes in highschool but i dont think I need them because of the careers the teachers speak about are mainly about being a doctor or lawyer or things like that. So do i need classes like that? I also wish to open a car repair shop also, what kind of education would i need for that?
What career in the Medical Field takes the shortest amount of education? My teacher told me that it takes about 8-10 years to become a doctor after pre health at a college. UNT at Dallas. Alternative career opportunities with a Masters in Education? I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction/ Education with a 4.0 GPA from an accredited university. I also have a bachelors in Education and experience as a teacher and teacher trainer in public schools. I am looking to for other career opportunities outside of the public schools. I could get my educational leadership degree and go into administration, however, I'm not really interested in this avenue. I could also work on my PhD in education and become a professor or work in developing standardized tets or measuring devices for such tests. What could I do in the business field? What else could I do? What should I do? How much time, effort, and money will this take? Any ideas? Details: I currently have two young children. I'm in my late twenties. I live in Flordia. I am married and it would be difficult to move somewhere in another state due to his job, but not impossible.
Do you have a career in special education? If so, maybe you can help me out please? **I'm specifically looking into mute/deaf children. ** What are the pros and cons? Is there a demand for special educators on an international level?
If I want to pursue a career in Higher Education, should I get a Law degree? I just graduated with a BA degree in History. I was accepted to a MEd. program in Higher Education Administration. However, I do not know if that would be a good option. Therefore, I was thinking that I should go to Law School and obtain a JD before I get my PhD. in Higher Education Administration. Would that be a good option? or I get my MEd. and Phd?
What education is recommended for a career in weapons design ? For a long time now I have been extremely interested in working for the defense industry. I have an attraction into the creating, research, development, and designing of weapons such as tanks, aircraft, hand-carried weapons, etc. I am currently looking into attaining a degree in mechanical engineering, but not quite sure if this is a wise choice for the type of career I am looking to chase. Any recommendations or advice on this ?

Looking for a new career in education ... HELP!? I have been teaching for 8 years. I am 28 right now in California. Teachers are treated HORRIBLY out here and I am finished. But I would LOVE to stay in the education career. What else is there besides teaching in a classroom? Thanks!
Looking for career advice (education).........? This question relates to my career. I graduated from college about 4 years ago and since then have decided to switch careers and get into teaching special education. I've had the opportunity to gain lots of experience in the field and have discovered that it is my true calling. I'm torn between whether or not to go to graduate school or to get certified through alternative certification. Here's my main dilemma...I live in Florida but have always wanted to move up to the mountains in Virginia. I have found an amazing school here in Florida that I would absolutely love to work at. Should I make my move up to the place that I've always loved and wanted to be (away from my family) not knowing I'll find such a great place to work, or should I stay in Florida and get certified to teach here at the school that I love? Whew! Thanks for your help! :)
Longest career in education? I am 64 years old. Mr. J.K. Patel was my teacher in The Calcutta Anglo-Gujarati School, India. He joined the school as a teacher in 1954 and is still continuing to serve. At present, he is 80 years old and is the principal of the school. I want to ask (a) Do you know of any teacher having such a long career in the field of education? (b) Do you know any teacher who continues to serve at the age of 80 years?

Human Resources, a good career? Higher Education Mangement? uk recent graduate? Just wondering if anyone working in HR has anything to say about whether they enjoy the job, if pay and prospects are good or bad, how easy to find posts etc. Am a recent grad, and deciding on a long term career. Have an interview for a HR assistant, they ask for a grad as they say they want sumone to put through the traning etc and from what i can gather from the info i have that they want sumone to train up to progress in the company as would obviously be aiming for management in the end, however long tht takes. Also have an interview for a job as a trainee in Higher Education management so am currently unsure which i really want to do...... Would be interesting if anyone had any perspectives on HE management as well, whether they enjoy it, prospects, pay etc..... Hate decisions lol lol thx for the answer... didnt mean hate power and responsibility decision making..i like to be in control lol, just that its taken me a while to weigh up options of what to do for a career and now that ive narrowed it down i dont wana much up the decision and just trying to collect opinions or points of view i might not hav considered.
Should I pursue a career in education, even though I got my undergrad in marketing? I graduated in 2006 with a marketing degree and I've been working in advertising since. I'm starting to think this is not the career for me. I love the work I do but I don't like business in general...the people, the environment, etc. I've always wanted to become a teacher but my dad (who paid for college) wouldn't let me. I'm starting to think I want to pursue a masters degree in education, but I don't know where or how to start and if its a good decision. Maybe I should just stick it out here...I don't know, any suggestions? Salary is not an issue with me. I rather do something I love and make less money, than something I hate. I make a very good living now but I'm miserable, I can't enjoy it.
Career/Education Change? Advice PLEASE? Im 16 years old and no longer go to school. Young I know, but in Australia its quite common. Anyway, I am pretty intelligent and only left school because I suffered extremely bad Galangela Fever. Anyway, I entered into this fulltime admin/personal assistant job. I don’t really like anything about my job. I don’t like the work I do and I don’t like the people I work with. I feel that at 16 I still have time to explore where I want to go in life. That is why I would absolutely LOVE a career change. My mind needs stimulating. I don’t get that at my current job. I get bored really easy and I have always been the type to do absolutely anything just so my brain is being fed! I’m thinking of going to TAFE or doing some sort of study which doesn’t require year 12 completion. I’ve always wanted to get into nursing or something to do with health services. Does anybody have any good suggestions on interesting careers? Or a good place to study on the Gold Coast, Australia? I don’t want a traineeship. I just want to study and get it out of the way. Please help. I feel really lost at the moment.
Marriage/Family vs. Career/Education.....Or Both? Ok, I'm 23 years old and I'll be graduating college in May. I'll be 24. I'm graduating at an older age for a number of different reasons, including working full-time, dealing with cancer in my family and changing my major 2 times. Amway, I have a boyfriend of 3 years. We would love to get married. However, we both agree that marriage should only happen when 2 people are in stable careers and are ready to contribute to a household equally. I want to go to grad school. The program I'm looking into is about 1.5-2 years long and includes an extensive internship program. I would not be able to work in my given career for at least another 2 years. I'll be 26 by than. I want to have children once I get married too. I would really like to have my first child by 26/27. However, if I don't graduate until I'm 26, this will not work. If I do decide to get a master's degree, I would like to work in my career for at least 2 years. I want to gain experience And become established in my field. I feel like I will end up compromising one of my dreams. I feel like there is just not enough time to accomplish everything I want to do. I should also add that my boyfriend will be 30 this year. If we do wait until I’m 28 to have children, he will be 35. I would really like us to have children as young as possible. I want him to experience being a “younger” father. I don’t want him having a 15 year old at 50 or a 20 year old at 55. We also want to have about 3 children. So, most likely he will be closer to 40 when the young ones are born. What do I do? I feel like I have to pick one path, but I don’t want to settle. My boyfriend is not pressuring me in anyway. However, I feel like I want to us to advance to the next step in our lives. What do people think? Anyone have a similar experience? What did you decide? How do you decide? I will most likely be a working mother. My boyfriend makes decent money, but not enough to support a stay at home mother/wife and 2-3 children comfortable. I don't mind working, as I am the produce of a working mother (as is he) and we turned out to be very good, moral and smart people.

Home Education & Future Career? Hi, I'm home educated by my parents and happy that way and have been for 2 years now. But I was a little concerned of what future career I would have after finishing home education. In other words where could I apply for GSCES or other exams or gain the skills to get a goo job. I'm currently 14 years old and only have two years left in home education. Best answer will get 5 star rating, postive feedback and a postive vote. GCSE is something we have over here in the UK.

Im planning to take Business Management for 2 years. http://www.nait.ca/program_home_21197.htm 1) What is the DIFFERENCE between 'Business Management' 2 year program, or the 4 year University level program in 'Business Adminstration in Enterprise Management'..... Career/education suggestions for a indecisive 20 yr old female.? First of all, I'm pretty lost when it comes to who I am. I basically was controlled by another person ages 13-18, and feel this is the reason I really don't know myself. I don't know what I would be good at or what I want to do. I took a dialysis technician certification course. I'm pretty sure I don't want to work in a hospital, but that seems all there is to do around here to make good money. I'm looking for things to learn about everyday. I'm really interested in how the mind works, how the world works, the history of things (recently interested in Japanese Samarui history, forms of martial arts, different religions/beliefs, anything on the discovery channel).. I just am lost... and looking for suggestions on the careers that are out there. I want to start schooling as soon as possible... I just need to figure out for what. Anything would help! Thank you.
My Career Education? I am planning on becoming a stay at home mom until my children start going to school, and then I want to become a social worker... I am majoring in psychology, what should my minor be?
Should i advance my career/education? I'm a registered nurse with an associates degree and i'm not sure yet if i want to head back to school - i graduated two years ago and i'm going to be looking for a new job come June. Assoc. vs. bach. degree there isn't any differences in pay. Besides MD or Nurse Practicioner what else could i go back to school for.. already being an RN?
Special education law and advocacy as a career? I have been a special education teacher in an inner city environment for several years now. I feel I have developed a respect and understanding for people with disabilities because of the nature of my work. I would like to take this interest one level further to still work with special education issues- maybe as a lawyer if I were to go to law school? I already have a background in special education through my work and a graduate program I completed last year. Special education is replete with many legal issues (especially the IEP). Are careers in special education legal advocacy in high demand and do you think this would be an interesting area to pursue a career? Thanks for the advice.
Am I crazy to make this career / education choice? So I graduated college and recently took an outside sales job in healthcare. I did this because I thought getting some experience in the real world is a good idea. The problem is I am not fitting in with the typical "sales" people, and I am just not passionate about what I am doing. After some thinking I have decided that I should do the job for a year, to save up money and have a year of experience as a back-up. During this year I should study for the GRE's and do study something that I am passionate about (government, foreign policy, etc). I always wanted to work for the State Department or the CIA or teach what I love related to those areas, but I always feared that studying such things in grad school is a "waste" Is it a waste? Are my job prospects unlikely? Am I crazy to do this? Thanks

Career / Continuing Education Advice Please? Hello all and thanks in advance for your answers. I am currently working at the corporate office for a large health care company as a physical security professional. My main job function is the complete operation of the company’s physical access control system and alarm systems for the home office as well as numerous remote locations and subsidiaries across the nation. A majority of my work experience is in the physical security industry and any knowledge of access control systems or alarm systems has been picked up by looking over vendor’s shoulders and limited onsite training by vendor staff. I am not unfamiliar with computers, picking up some knowledge here and there, but I know enough to know that I don't know enough. In a field where “convergence” seems to be the word of the day and security systems are getting more technically advanced, my goal would be to improve my knowledge of the IT industry and how it relates to physical security systems in order to advance my career. The only problem is I am not really sure where to begin with selecting classes, certifications, or tech schools vs. college. I would like to specifically focus on IP related topics, networking, SQL, database maintenance, IT security, and anything I might be missing (if anyone has any suggestions). As I said I know enough to know I don’t know enough. Most of my focuses are words or situations that have arisen as I have been working but I could not tell you what most of them mean or how they work, I know they just do and if not I call the helpdesk or vendor. I would also like to obtain more knowledge pertaining to the installation of security systems though this is probably more of an electrical industry topic but it also includes database construction. I do have a limited schedule so I am basically looking at just taking classes specific to my job function vs. obtaining a degree but would like to eventually earn some form of IT degree. If anyone out there has any knowledge of security systems or advice over what classes I should look into taking I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thanks
Career in education Elementary teacher? I am a women in my 30's looking for a change of career. I do have a bacherlors degree in Psycoholgy. Which I never pursued. I have been in sales for over 10 yrs and unhappy. I have thought about teaching many times but not sure if I have a passion for it. Everyone in my life has thought I would be a great teacher. Now I would have to go back to school and I am just not sure how to go about it. Can anybody give me there input or if they have been in my current situation?
Starting a career in education - please advise? I am 24 years old, with a master's in English and one in Management. While I once wanted to be a college professor, I now think I might be better suited to high school. Does my MA inhibit me from finding work in a high school because of the higher salary draw? Also, I wonder if I ought to restrict myself exclusively to looking at private schools, or if I am better off putting in the time and money getting licensed by the state. If I decide to go back to school, what is the most productive career for me to pursue while I am doing so?

Education, career and life after 30...? For all you old folks out there, a question about your careers. IF you could go back to being in your late 20's/early thirties, would you take the time to quit a job you disliked and go back to University to retrain for a different life? If you're not over thirty, please don't add your answer to this question. Thanks.
