Which Chicago law school career office should I request reciprocity at? I go to a regionally respected third tier law school (though we've cracked the top 100 recently). I'm taking the Illinois bar exam this summer and do not yet have a job. I can only affiliate with one law school in Chicago. My options are: * Chicago Kent * DePaul * Loyola * John Marshall * U. Chicago * Northwestern Any suggestions as to which career office is best connected? Most resources? Most postings? I think my credentials probably disqualify U. Chicago and Northwestern since I'm not sure I could reasonably get anything they would have posted. I'd love to hear feedback from current or past Chicago-area law students regarding the quality of their school's career services office. Thanks.
Can I change my career from Customer Service to Office Admin after having 9 years experience in Cust service? I have been working for alst 9 years. Most of it (70%) in Customer Service and rest in Office Admin.I have excellent experience in Telecom (Call Centre) and I was managing a Telecom Retail Store(Company Owned) in India before I moved to Canada. In canada I was working in Call Centre Bell Mobility until April 2008.But I left it because of the rotating shifts and I t was being difficult to manage with my 15 moths old daughter. Now I am looking for an office Admin job with fix timings like 9am to 5pm but having tough luck so far.I was wondering if it is a right decision to change my career path or not? I still have the passion to work in Customer Service especially Telecom but the timings are the biggest problem. As far as my capabilities are concerned my stats were always 99% where the requirement was 75% to 80%.Plz advice
Can someone give me a good objective statement for a legal resume? Someone suggested that my resume needed an objective statemnt, which our career services office told us was unnecessary because right out of law school everyone's objective is pretty much the same, right? But what exactly makes a good one, besides the obvious "looking to hone my legal skills and practice my mastery in legal writing"?
How do I make a career change from back office financial operations to investment banking with only an A.A.S ? I am finding it extremely difficult to expand on my financial services background and need some suggestions. I have worked in back office operations management (collections, customer service, cash application) for 7 years and need a change desperately. I have applied for numerous positions as an admin asst to traders, operations support, etc. and keep getting turned down due to lack of experience in investment banking. Additionally, I only have an Associates degree in Business Admin. Why don't these companies want a seasoned professional willing to start from scratch? I understand and accept the pay cut, just give me a chance.....
never signed for selective services at post office when 18? I am 22 now and have never signed for selective services at the post office when I was 18. I figured if I really had to I would have gotten somthing in the mail. I registered as a voter, and recieved financial aid for college without signing for the selective services. (both are examples I heard you cant do unless you signed for selective services) My parents told me they didnt send me anything because of my last name. I guess I am the only one in my family that can carry on the last name? I am just curious if this could be the answer or not. I am interested in a career as a postal worker, and it says that you should have signed on. I look at it as Uncle Sam never told me to sign on so I am not. Untill people are running around my country with ak's blowing up innocent people, I am not enlisting. im interested in a postal job, would it be possible to just go sign the service thingys now?
How do I choose a career? I'm 30. I have a BA degree in liberal arts (psychology minor). I took classes in education, psychology, Spanish and etc. I've only worked as a secretary, file clerk and receptionist in a couple law offices. Law really bores me. I have no desire to become a lawyer or paralegal. For the past 10 years I've volunteered off and on in schools, churches and other organizations teaching children, serving food to homeless people, and etc etc. I enjoy working with nonprofits helping people. I want to go back to school and do something more in psychology/sociology/ social field than say legal field. Before I go back to school I would like to have some idea what field/job I want to pursue. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to decide? Do I volunteer at different places? Read books? Go talk to career services at my former college? How did you choose a career?
Sociology/Human Services Career Interests? I'm really interested in Sociology and Human Services (Sociology is my 1st choice) fields, but I don't quite know exactly what career I want to go in to. Something with criminology, juvenile delinquency, etc. I don't want to be a counselor necessarily and definitely not a social worker (I don't want to take kids away from their parents). I wouldn't mind being a probation office (adult or juvenile) but those jobs are hard to get in my city. I'm not sure what kind of jobs are offered in the women's prison system (the women's is in my city, the male's prison is too far) or the juvenile detention center, but I wouldn't mind those places as long as I'm not a guard or anything. Does anyone have advice/career possibilities they can offer that are in those areas?
What can I do? Education or Social Services? Career Counselor was worthless.? I have 2 AA Degrees, a Bachelor's Degree in Management, 61 units completed for the Education Specialist Credential in M-M Disabilities and additional coursework in ASL, Child Development and Computers/Office Technology. I did not pass my student teaching due to my disability. My work experience includes (Aide, Substitute Teacher, ESL Testing Technician, Non-profit agencies for clients w/disabilities, food service and retail). I could get my Masters in ED w/o the credential by taking 4 more classes ( + my thesis). Or, I could take the same amount of classes for the ECE Credential, (no thesis required) But, what if I don't pass my student teaching again? Most of my education and experience is in education. If I apply in a field that is different, employers say I need a different degree or ask, why the change? I need to know what am I qualified to do with what I have so far. If I need to go a little further, Masters Degree or an ECE credential? Please help if you can. I have passed the CBEST, SSAT and RICA Examinations for teaching. I do not have the energy to start a different Masters Degree from the bottom-up.
Which path would you suggest for a career change? Which would be better: Associates Degree with certificates in diverse areas (Accounting, medical terminology, customer service, front office, icd-9, etc) or Associates Degree and a certificate of completion in another program (such as Accounting)? I am moving from a large city to a small town where most positions only require a high school diploma. I do not have time to get a BA/BS nor do most people have one where I am moving to, so I don't see that as a requirement. May I also add, that I have 15 years in retail sales and management experience, as this is a real career change as well as a relocation. I already have an AS in general studies. I will not go back for a BA.
Hi. I have a question about my resume. I went to the career office at my community college with the version? that I had. The counselor looked it over & made a couple of suggestions on how to tweak it, but it basically wasn't so bad. HOWEVER, she stated that it would be a good idea to put an objective on my resume. I had thought that it wasn't necessary any longer to put an objective, but said ok. She said try to figure out what you want to to do. I want a job! A real job! a grown-up job! The problem is I'm not sure what I want to do. I enjoyed the advertising sales that I did for 3 years, but did not like the quota aspect of it. Or the driving around. I'm currently working in retail making 8.50 an hour. retail sales (bridal store) 2007-present retail sales (department store)Christmas 2007 office assistant , temp agency 2007 waitress 2006- present advertising account executive 2003-2006 market researcher 2002-2003 customer service representative 2001-2002 administrative assistant 2000 How to word a goal of a clerical job with sales-like interaction? Help! Thanks! I kind of want something that sounds professional but makes the following point: Job Objective: A position that allows me to grow within an organization where my clerical and sales experience would be an asset. But that sounds like b s fluff to me
Looking for a Human Resources or an Office job? Hey there, I just recently graduated from university and have a BA in Arts ( a major in Psychology and one in Anthropology) and now its time for me to get a real job. I also have over 8 years of retail experience involving customer service and sales support. Now that I am done school, I am looking for a career in an office or work in a HR department. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hey thank you for your input. I'm definitely going to look into that area.
What is she thinking? I recently visited the career services office in my school (college) to ask about some information regarding my job field. the lady I talked to was constantly playing with her hair and sitting indian style in her chair the entire time I was there. she was smiling at me the whole time and just gave off a vibe. was she into me?
What to wear to our alumni dinner on a budget? DH and I will be attending an alumni dinner in three weeks for the college he graduated from and I formerly attended. It will be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area at an upper-scale Mexican grill. Having only seen our alums during formal events on campus, I have no idea what to wear to this dinner, and would like to spend as little money as possible. I am 23. I already have: 1. Green paisley v-neck dress with fluttery sleeves. Looks very nice on me, but needs something, like a belt. What belt styles are in for this spring? Length needs heels; what type of heeled sandals? 2. Black pencil skirt and cute heels, but no spring/summer tops to go with it. 3. A tan, almost tweed-looking cotton suit. It is more of a fall style. Do not have appropriate shoes to go with it. Things I could get: 1. Assuming they have one in my size, the Career Services Office at my university gives away free suits for interviews. Your suggestions will be welcome. Thanks!

What are the pros and cons of a career as a radiology technician for a 39yr. old introvert career changer? I'm thirty nine years old and very introverted (let's say practically anitsocial!) and work in Civil Service (N.Y. City municipal agency) as a Supervisor in the Records Management Unit. While it is back office and I only have to manage a staff of three, it is boring, tedious, and mindless work spent doing repetitive data entry, information research, answering telephone questions of employees about their personnel files; and living in one of the boroughs of N.Y.C. the salary sucks - $45,000.00 I couldn't even afford a studio apartment on that if I wasn't married! I can be charming and friendly if forced to, am fairly intelligent, very well spoken, and have been told by numerous people that I "write very well." Since receiving my Bachelor's Degree in 1991 I've not enrolled in any sort of academic program. I desperately need a career chage but am hampered by my solitary nature and fear of socializing. I also need to earn about $65K to feel financially secure. Advice?
What are some careers where you can rent your own office space, be your own boss, have clients, etc.? I'm interested in making a career change and would like to open up my own office in the area. I've thought about some different careers that allow you to be your own boss, but I think there may be others that haven't come to mind. Right now, I work in marketing and public relations (think editorial/copywriting) for a small organization in a somewhat rural area and I'm ready to branch out on my own. I know I can't open up a proofreading shop (haha!), so I think I'll need to do a complete 180 and start fresh -- something I'm actually looking forward to doing. I love meeting with people and getting a sense of responsibility for providing them with a useful or helpful service. I'm very willing to go back to school to achieve my new goal. Here's what I've come up with. Can you add to it? * CPA * Attorney * Marriage & Family Counselor * Physical Therapist * Massage Therapist
I like to know what skills are needed for entry level administrative support or general office job.? Only people that know for sure. Either working in the adminstrative field or empIoyer, career counselor. been long time since I done office work as a file clerk. I need to know what skills are needed. I'm getting different anwers what computer skills are needed is the Microsoft XP, 2003, or the newest version. Does explorer prefer you go to school or the computer experience are good enough with other customer service skills I already have. Any other skills/ associations I should join that make my resume look good please let me know.
Whats the best method of figuring out what to do with the rest of your life, career wise? I'm so tired of shuffling papers in offices; accounting, customer service, etc. I have many interests though, which all involve many years of college (and alot of money I might add). How do I figure out which road to take? I thought I wanted to go into anthropology or sociology, then I am also interested in psychology & brain function ( I don't want to be a doctor!). Both are very involved and I have no "real" experience with either. I just study both on my own. I know I have an intellectual brain, and I want to use it!! Any suggestions would be helpful...
Need to choose a career and not sure what I want to do?? I really like to organize parties and be creative. I also like to help people with their problems. I like to do office type work but not necessarily customer service. What kind of careers would be good for me. Is there a test on the interbet that I could take to find a career based on my interests??
Employment in The Foreign Office.? I am currently a student of Mandarin Chinese due to graduate next May and I am looking forward to future employment possibilities. I have been considering the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as a career with a view to being posted out to China but I am unsure as to how to break into the Civil Service. Can anyone give any tips or advice as to how to begin a career in the service? Many Thanks.
Career change from Management Consulting to IT? Hi. I am seriously considering changing careers from management consulting to a job in IT; preferably to do with hardware as an engineer or support services. I have a first degree in Business Economics & Finance. I am very technical with PCs and I more or less sort out all of my current office's problems. I have more than 7 years experience working with PCs and regularly upgrade and install parts on my system. I am very confortable with computers and networking and would like to pursue a career where I can improve my skills in the IT sector; does anyone have any tips that can get me started? Do I have get a degree for a career in this sector? All answers welcome.
What career would be my best choice? What profession would accept a newbe that is an older woman. The age discrimation is alive and well, and I understand why - I just have to deal with it. That said, I must work for a long time yet. My talents include computer, office, 65 wpm, etc. Customer service, receptionist. I am not sales material. Would getting a degree or certificate help? In what? I am currently working thru a temp agency for a company that will not hire anyone, and a $9.50 per hour staying on is not a viable option.
Limiting terms in public office? Here's the thing. Wether or not you agree or disagree with our president, guess what? He cannot run again for the office of pres. Why is it that we do not have the same restrictions in place for other politicians in public office?? I'm tired of "career minded" individuals running our country and localities. the public office is supposed to be a SERVICE not a Career!!! what do you all think?
Help with major and career in? This doesn't have anything to do with nursing but it does have something to do with the medical field. I'm going to Baker in the Fall for an Associates but I'm not sure what to major in. I don't know why but I want to work in a hospital setting. These are the programs I'm thinking about, Medical Administrative Secretary, Patient Care Aide, Health Information Technology, Medical Assistant, Medical Insurance Specialist certificate or degree, or Human Service or Office Support, could I use Human Service and Office Support in a hospital? Which career is in demand and what is the pay like for each? Thanks
is there anyone out there who is kind of in the same position or have been in the some position, as myself? I am a high school graduate and have completed a General Associate's degree. I am also working towards an Office Services certificate. I am not sure where I should go afterwards. I really enjoy Photography. I don't know the technical aspects, though. I also enjoy taking 'commercial' pictures (nature, outdoors, buildings, etc). Someone also mentioned graphic designing or something in the Publishing area. I don't have many skills in either of the three areas. It's hard for me to express myself...So sorry. I am not very social, and prefer to be in the background of things. I have looked at the Ohio Career Information System. It does have some good information on it. I guess I am just wondering are there any people out there who are kind of in the same position or have been in the some position, as myself, and what did you end up doing? Thanks so much!! And I hope you will be able to understand my (disorganized) thoughts.
How can I change my career? I'm a single mother of two desperately wanting something different. I'm interested in anything in the clerical field. My real goal is to become a Paralegal. I was a Criminial Justice major for 2 yrs before I had to drop out and have spent the last 6 yrs in food service(various jobs). Before that it was retail. I have also taken various classes in Microsoft Office and Admin. Asst. training, but can't seem to get my foot in the door. What should I do now?

Is my legal career nearly over? I blame myself and society for this, and here are the stats: 28 years old, mediocre law school GPA, no internship/clerkship offers, licensed to practice law in an area with too many lawyers (I suppose this is true everywhere). I have been working for a legal temporary agency for the last two years and nobody seems to want to hire me. I find it hard to market to potential employers. People have advised me to get out of there, which is what I have been trying to do! I would really like to work in public service, such as county attorney, but all the offices keep saying no. I am starting to believe that I am not worthy of anything except carrying mail-my previous career before law school. I was very good at it but was underpaid and underappreciated. Still, it seems like staying there would have been the wiser choice than spending time and money in school for a profession that probably won't ever receive me beyond the bar passage.
What are the basics I should start learning to become a valuable Administrative Assistant? I am on a mission to change my life! I want to acquire a good paying career in an office environment. I can type and file and answer multi line phones. I have a great personality and experience in customer service. However, I dont know what computer programs I should focus on learning. What do you think I should focus on to make me desirable to an employer in the business field? I WILL be successful, I just need to know how and where to start!
Does anything know anything about Treasury services (sales)? Why would you work in treasury services and be a product specialist or relationship manager when you can earn more money in the investment bank? Did anyone move from IB to TS? what is the career path for someone in TS front office? What is the salary like?

Is it practical to begin studying for a career in Acupuncture or Massage Therapy at the age of 40? I am forty years old (41 in July) and live in a borough outside of NYC. I currently am a Civil Servant and work in City Government in a terribly boring clerical/administrative position as a Records Dept. Supervisor in the Office of Personnel Services. My salary is a joke at $48K but I have job security, a pension, 401K plan, 457 plan, Vision, Dental, and Health Insurance not subsidized from my payckeck. I have a BBA for Industrial Pyschology but no other degrees or training and I feel like a TOTAL LOSER! I'm in a failed marriage but because rent is astronomical am still living with her and another roomate and I DESPERATELY need to live a different life for the better. I'd like a new career with excellent money potential and have been thinking about either Massage or Acupuncture. However, I am an EXTREME loner and have serious difficulty socializing with others. I'm afraid of the cost and time required for these careers! Should I just stick where I am and wait for retirement-HELP!

associates degree in human services, best job? My sister just graduated with a AA in Human services. Not a big deal to some, but for her it was. She came from a 14 year abusive relationship, drug addicted alcoholic husband. She wants to get the best job / career she can with this degree. She graduated with honors, only one grade below an A. She also wants this job to be a "hands-on" type job, with limited paperwork, typing, etc. She likes being out in the field so to speak and working with people. She was an office assistant prior to her school days, so paperwork, answering phones and sitting in a cubical is not appealing. Any ideas?
Is an insurance broker a good career? I work customer service for an insurance center (brokers) but I work in a solo office and all I do is give the customers the papers to sign that I get emailed by the brokers that are located somewhere else, but they do the policy. So I dont actually get to see how it all goes down or if its good money... If I ask my boss he'll probably say its the best job ever and you make really good money but Im not sure. What im asking is if its a good career all around, but working in a company not as an independant broker... thanks Oh and for car insurance, thx
What career should I attempt to pursue with my experience? I'm having a little trouble trying to find a career. I have been working in an office environment for about 4 years and before that I had about 10 years experience in the manufacturing industry. My office experience consists of high volume payment processing (direct deposit) some customer service, working with Microsoft Excel (charts, pivot tables and data entry), processing refund checks using quickbooks and bank reconciliations. What type of jobs should I apply for with this type of experience. One side note....I do not have a degree but I have some college coursework completed in Criminal Justice and psychology. I also need to mention that I am not currently in school and the college courses were taken earlier.
career move choice into the legal field? limited work history on my resume currently? currently work for citigroup in their financial services dept... i work in a branch that has sales goals/collections/etc i just got my paralegal certificate and want to pursue a career in the legal field but i'm having a tough time finding a job... also alot of law firms are small so the benefits aren't good and u dont get vacation at first, etc. i saw that there is a legal admin. assistant position open in citigroup in an office that is far away (so i'd have a longer commute or have to take the train)... i don't know if it'd be worth it PROS- stay with same company (same benefits, vacation, 401k, etc), already have seniority, moving into the legal field CONS- still won't be a paralegal even tho i just spent a ton of money to get my certificate, there is a long drive, do i want to learn all new policies and procedures? do i want to have to explain this to my boss? if i look at a company outside of citi my boss will never know if i applied or not should i apply for it??
Has anyone found their calling in life? Why do I feel like the 1% of the population who is just drudging through life? I have a college degree in social science and I should have went to law school but the price of a law degree. Ouch! I went to college to quit being a bellhop in a hotel for 15 years. Guess what Im still a bellhop! I'm in my late 30's and I want to find another career that has some prestige and is satisfying. I know office work and administration jobs are very low on my interest scale. I would hate working in a office. Whereas, personal service, writing, and teaching are my strengths--but most jobs in these fields are low paying. Good jobs would be flight attendant, actor, and politician. I know bellhop is a personal service job thats why i stay --its fun job. But its no career for someone with a college degree. I thought of going into politics? But I dont have serious money. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want something middle paying, prestigous, professional, and in public eye. No office jobs!
Do you think US politicians shouldnt be allowed to head corporations when they are finished in goverment? Many high ranking career politicians, after civil service, turn to head up corporations on the board of directors or other executive positions. Vice Pres Cheney served as an executive in Halliburton, J Cofer Black Head of CIA counter terrorism- resigned is now vice president of Blackwater. the list goes on. So do you think theres a conflict of interest if its in the same field? Say a politician responsible for choosing contractors in Iraq, and then resigning and going to work that company. To me it seems like a revolving door for politicians to take office, and then get out and cash in, in the corporatate world and then come back to develop more contacts in the US government. I think conflicts of interests should be identified because the US government is the most important thing in the world and should be potentially jeopardized by greed, OR corporations. Opinions?
My career options? i have no idea.. im 17 now.. 1 more year in high school... and yet i really dont know what to study and where to go... the careers that i like are the following, but please tell me which one of these do you think are the best and always in demand and why, 1 being the best... chef/cook, police, social service worker, child & youth worker, nurse, hair stylist, office adminstrative, flight attendant, law clerk
Is it possible to make a career of terrible parenting? Did you all know that the field of mental health enables entire families to remain on the dole, 18 years at a time? SSI recognizes ADHD as a disability in some cases. If the parent reads up a little, they can present symptoms that lead the incompetent therapist to give their child a Bipolar Disorder diagnosis. Once that happens, the family has income and services until that child is an adult. A family that plans well, will make sure they have kids, even when they are into their 40's. To trick the therapists, the parents neglect their kids, raise them in chaos, and offer no guidance on standards of conduct. Once that child enters the therapists office, he'll believe what the parents tell him. Once the child is in school, IEP's and no expectation of any normal performance. I know, many of you would never sacrafice your children in this way, but many don't have any qualms about it.

Career; Job stability of accountant? Hi, I'm a math major college student in Midwest. I'm thinking about going for master program of accounting. Well, I know the job markets are pretty open for international students compared to financial service area. How about the stability? I think it is a really nice idea that accountant can open their own accountant office when they retire. That is, they can work as much as they can. OR, I wanna keep doing math (statistics) with bit of econ and find a job as a data analysis or actuary. Do they usually retire early from the companies? Like Investment Banker? What does investment Bankers do after they quit that jobs? I heard IB work is too hard so most people sort of quit(or be kicked out) within 10 years. I wanna know how great advantage accountant have compared to other financial service jobs that offer higher salary. thanks
Family vs. career? Am I being selfish? I have been dating a wonderful man for almost 2 yrs. I am 30 & he is almost 29. I have 2 beautiful kids from a prior relationship ages 9 & 11. My bf has a passion to fly commercial planes. About a year ago, he signed up with the Canadian Armed Forces & he's still waiting to hear if he's been accepted. Problem is, he must obtain a university degree (he only has a college degree) before he is allowed to join the air force. So he left a very good job working as a computer IT @ our city hall office to go back to university this fall. He has approx. 2 1/2 more yrs before he obtains his degree. Once he has his degree, he must train for 2 yrs with the air force to obtain his commercial pilot's license. He then owes them 7 years of service in return. I have told him that I love him enough to stand by his side & wait for him but he of course would like to have a family - probably in another 5 years, once he's done his schooling & training. I have told him "No way". I have said "NO" because: 1. I will be 35 + yrs old. 2. My children will be nearing graduation, so I'm not sure if I want to start another family. 3. I told him that he must choose between family or his passion to fly. I refuse to raise any more children by myself (been there already) and that if we have children, he needs to put us first. He is unable to do this while he would be serving with the air force.
I am going to the army recruiting office this week? to inquire about OCS. I am 90% sure that this is what i want to do, perhaps for a career. I am 23 and willing to jump start my life in the military. I have always wanted to be a part of something special and working in the civilian world is not doing it for me. There is little personal satisfaction. I have always believed in public service and i believe that this is one very overlooked form of it in NYC, where i live. Any advice you have would be very welcomed. I have a Bachelors degree in Political Science/History. Non prior service OCS do not get to choose where they are branched. they get a preference list, but needs of the army is above all.
I do not know what I want to do in life, career wise? Help me?!? My mom has been saying pharmacy forever... but... I really do not want to do that. What I am interested in is sort of like am office setting. I really enjoy communicating with people and having a sort of connection. I worked in retail, so I hate that customer service crap... but I DO want to make A LOT of money. I do not care how many years of schooling I would need. I'm pretty much good in all subjects. I can do science, math, english, writing... I was an editor of my newspaper. But I do not want to be a writer. I have no problem writing though. I am good at BSing too!
i am joining the air force. I would like to have a future career in finance/stocks will it help? I am joining the air force mainly to do something fun and different before i'm in an office job for the rest of my life, i'll be 27 when i'm done and at that point i'd like to work for a company as an investment banker/stock broker. my father says that my time in the military will make me a much stronger applicant although i will not have a degree in finance. He said stocks is a learned job. Will my military service be a plus when applying for a job? what military jobs should i look at?

Where do I begin? I am a single mother of a 6 year old and a 7 mnth old. I am a high school graduate, I have 1 full year of college (12 credits?), and a certificate in Computerized Career Skills from a business school. I have been working for 15 yrs. in grocery, retail, customer service, airline, bank teller, telemarketing, office assist., and most recently legal secretary. When I was a young girl I rarely played house or school, I remember always pretending to have a group of kids in a circle and I was their mentor or counselor. My desire, STILL, is to help young people. I want to pursue a career in counseling/therapy for young people, Middle School/ High School age. Where do I begin? Right now I work for a company that is very involved in helping young people, but my position is not hands on, it's more fund raising. Any advice on how I start?
No office jobs!
do you know what your corporate zodiac is? astrology tells us about people and their future by their time, date and location of birth. the Chinese zodiac uses the year of a persons birth. demographics tells us what others like, dislike. who they voted for, as well as what they buy and what they watch on television. the corporate zodiac goes a step further: simply by an individuals job title, people can pretty much learn about an employees hidden personality traits MARKETING you are ambitious, yet stupid. you chose a marketing degree to avoid having to actually study in university, concentrating instead on drinking and socializing-which is pretty much what your job responsibilities are now. least compatible with sales SALES laziest of all the corporate signs, often referred to as a 'marketer without a degree'. you are also self centered and paranoid. unless someone calls you and begs you to take their money, you like to avoid all contact with customers so you can 'concentrate on the big picture'. you seek admiration for your golf game, clothes, car and sex appeal throughout your career CUSTOMER SERVICE Bright, cheery and positive, you are a 50 cent taxi ride from taking your own life. As a child very few of you asked your parents for a little cubicle for your room and a headset so you could pretend to play ‘customer service’. Continually passed over for promotions, your best bet is to sleep with your manager TECHNOLOGY Unable to control anything in your personal life, you are instead content to completely control everything that happens at your workplace Typically you went to trade school because you didn’t have time for all that ‘crap’ required in university. Often, even you don’t understand what the hell you’re saying. But no one else except the engineers knows anyway. It is written that the geeks shall inherit the earth, but the senior managers keep contesting the will ENGINEERING One of only signs that actually studied in school, it is said that 60% of all people on the Internet are either engineers, or wish they were. You can be happy with yourself and the latest technology in you field. Your office is typically full of the latest gadgets, catalogues and half finished spec sheets ACCOUNTING The only other sign that studied in school, you are mostly immune from office politics. You are the most feared person in the organization; combined with your extreme organizational traits, the majority of your co-workers are convinced that you are completely without feeling or emotion. You are often caught in the bathroom, practicing your frown in the mirror HUMAN RESOURCES Ironically, given your access to confidential information, you tend to be the biggest gossip in the company. Possibly the only other person that does less work than marketing, you are unable to return any calls today because you have to get a haircut, have lunch, and mail a letter! Your favorite expression is ‘now don’t say anything but…’ MID LEVEL MANAGERS/DEPARTMENT HEADS/TEAM LEADERS Cut throat and ambitious, but you are destined to remain in your current job forever unless a senior manager dies or retires. You measure your worth by the number of meetings you can schedule for yourself and the number of subordinates you sleep with. Best suited to marry other middle managers, as everyone in your social circle must be at least a middle manager for appearance sake SENIOR MANAGERS You enjoy appearing to be the ultimate authority figure but actually, you are completely spineless, and determined to remain in your current job for the rest of your life, unless the head of your organization dies or retires. Unable to make a single decision, you pretend to measure your worth by the number of mid level managers you can harass on any given day and ensure that your office is the largest in the building. best suited to date/marry other senior managers, as everyone in your social circle is a senior manager; besides, no one else would have you anyway

WoW.....HOLY CENSORSHIP BATMAN !!!!? WASHINGTON - The State Department has a message for White House candidates wanting to expound on sensitive diplomatic issues: Shut up. Are YOu kidding me?? lol ADVERTISEMENT Traditionally silent during presidential campaigns filled with divisive foreign policy debates, the department on Friday delivered a rebuke to would-be nominees of both parties whose recent comments have complicated U.S. efforts to overcome deep suspicion about the war on terrorism in the Muslim world. "Those who wish to hold office can speak for themselves and whoever is elected in 2008 and comes into office in 2009 will then be in a position to talk about what they intend or plan to do," said deputy spokesman Tom Casey, a career foreign service officer Are you kiddin me ???? Navy ROTC Marine option? What exactly happens when you do ROTC, more specifically, the marine option? Do you do basic, then college, then your duty office? And when you go to college, is it for the career after marines (i would be doing 4 years), or for your service as if your entire career is in the marine corps, then you retire when you are older? I am a high school student looking at marines options. Thanks a lot.
Want to change careers? Desperately...How? I started out of high school in customer service. Though I've had other office jobs, mostly customer service. I hate customer service. I want to change careers, but am drawn to customer service jobs. How do I stop this cycle/switch careers midway?
What are politicians for except to promote their own self -interest and steal and waste our hard earned money? Has any politician asked you whether he can take large amounts of your money? Has any politician ever given you back anything but your own money? Has any politician ever appologised for wasting the money which he has forcibly removed from you? Has any politician freely admitted that he has not kept promises which he made to get elected? Has any politician never accepted pecunary or moral bribes? Has any politician ever earned the vast amounts of our money which he regularly votes to pay himself? Most politicians see their election to office as a career leading to wealth and positions of power and will do and say anything to obtain election and re-election. The idea of responsibility to his constituents is only given lip service once a politician enters parliament, where his loyalty is to his Political Party rather than to the people who elected him. He will then waste time enacting useless legislation because his political masters tell him to. Most politicians are morally bancrupt.
Anyone KNOW a SPECIFIC company that is willing to hire an ex felon in Dallas Texas? If you ran the White House what would your priorities be? Since I cant answer my own question in the comment area - 1. Get out of IRAQ 2. Bust up the Oil Monoplies 3. Raise Minimun Wage to ABOVE the Poverty line. 4. Federal govt creating incentives for Renewable engeries and alternate forms of transportation. 5. Only contributions to ANY elected offical would be via your taxes and limited to $5 per family member. (think about it - thats $1.5 Trillion to be divided among all races from local to federal elections) 6. Remove cap on FICA taxes so all wage earner contribute - FICA tax is SOCIAL security. 7. Term limits on all forms of elected officals to no more then 3 consecutive terms in any office. For the people and by the people - Civil service is a duty, NOT a career. 8. Make CEO pay/bonus/retirement connected to employee wages/increase and to be voted on by shareholders. As well as same as benefits. If a company can afford a 10% raise in CEO wages - then it can afford 10% to its workforce. Darn - and I am just getting started Yes, and lets not forget about ILLEGAL immigrations. 9. Shoot to kill - if you dont stop on orders. You are INVADING another country. We have laws. 10. You want to be an American - SPEAK ENGLISH. 11. Non-Americans not to have access to food stamps, housing assistance, JOBS, housing, or any other form of assist from government, businesses, or citizens. 12. A crime for government, businesses or citizens to assist ILLEGALS.
