What do you think is a better career choice? Im taking medical terminology this semester and im two weeks from being done (thru a career training program called ROP). I want to be a Nurse and the first step thru Rop is to take the CNA course which is one semester. However, I was comparing the skills you learn between CNA and Clinical Medical Assistant (Which is also offered thru ROP) and it seems theres more hands on skills taught thru that course, compared to CNA which is more labor than anything else.Should I take MA first than CNA next semester or should i even take MA at all?

A career path question for pilots fresh from their training. What to do next? For example, a pilot trainee completes a 250 hour flight training program. What can he/she do to earn hours in order to be accepted in the airlines? If he/she chooses to be a in a charter, will he/she eligible without ratings of the aircraft in that company? Or the company would provide a self-sponsored flight training for that applicant? Thank you very much.
When personal/fitness training as a career, what program (ACE. NFPT, AFAA etc) stands out among the rest? Personal Trainer Certification I’ve decided to pursue personal/fitness training as a career, and I am in the process of choosing a certification program. I’ve done a bit of research and found several articles on the subject, but I’m still not sure which certification is right for me. I’d like some help sorting through my options. The ideal answer will weigh the pros and cons of the programs I’ve listed below, and possibly include the programs I’ve left out (such as Cooper or NFPT).
Wondering if anyone can tell me if the Career Training Institute at wpscourse.com is legitimate? I recently viewed this site that offers a program where after completion you can build a career typing articles for websites and earning money while doing so. The program is inexpensive and sounds too good to be true of course. So, I was wondering if anyone can give me insight to this, especially anyone who has actually enrolled and completed the program. Thanks, Christina.

Helicopter Pilot training Grants? Can anyone point me into a direction to seek grants for pilot training (rotorcraft)? I have a Sallie Mae career training loan but was only given 30k of the 50k I need. I am a working adult in a career training program but not degree program, so FAFSA is not really an option. Thanks in advance for any information. I did look into that, but to get into helicopter training for military (Army) you have to enter warrant officer school. With that you have to be under 30 and have 60 credit hours of college. I am 32 and have 45 hours.
Is Olympia Career Training Institute a good school? I'm interested in going to their Grand Rapids campus. Is it true that their programs do not take long to complete? And is it expensive?
I moved for new career with training to be provided. No training is really going to happen. What should I do? I moved 2000 miles for a job with an associate of nearly 10 years. The job is a new field for me field incl. electrical design, wiring, and programming of all sorts of industrial control systems. This requires many classes and a few years of being an apprentice. All the classes related to what I am to be doing were going to be provided along with 2 to 3 years in an apprenticeship. Well, business seemed to be slow and none of the training has happened. I've been doing pretty much unskilled stuff for the first year and suddenly I'm expected to perform this job. I haven't even been working with the person who I was supposed to train with and eventually replace. It's a small company and the boss won't talk about training now. He "blows up" when I ask about it. He's now saying that I claimed to have all the experience and knowledge. I didn't even apply for the job. He called me and I moved back from California to the mid-west for this. How do get out of this without being the bad guy?
I recently attended a seminar on how to get a government job. They had where you could pay a certain amount.. You could pay a certain amount down and some a month it was about $900 for the whole program but they would let you pay a small amount down and some a month. What would occur is you give your information then they send you study things in the mail after an amount of time they would tell you where to take your test. It was like a career training program in the government. At the time i couldn't do it but i was wondering if anyone knows about this and what it may be called? Any info on how to get a hold of them about this opprotunity would be greatly appreciated!
What is the training program like for someone who wants to be a medical technician or doctor in the Military? I would like to become an Emergency Medical Technician (First Responder), and I was wondering if there is a program and/or need for them in the Military. If yes, what is the training like, and how do I find out more about a career like this?
Online vet tech training -- are there any good programs out there? I am ready to enroll in an online vet tech program. I want the info mainly for my own knowledge and use as a dog/cat/bird owner / dog breeder and dog rescuer, not so much as to prepare for a career because I am semi-retired from a business career. Animals are my passion now, and I just want to learn as much as I can without going back to college to prepare for another career. Any suggestions or experience with online vet tech programs? So far I've only contacted and researched Penn Foster. Thanks for any feedback you may have that will help me make a good decision with my time and money on the line.
What is the best way to re-train for a career in computer programming? I would like to train in software development / internet design. I have already dabbled with VB, SQL and HTML. What is the best way to get qualified, (courses / from books). What qualifications to go for? Degrees or Microsoft Exams etc and which? Sorry there are a lot of questions here, but when starting out there are so many languages, courses etc on offer, that it is hard to know where to begin, and what employers are after. Any help would be greatly appreciated together with perhaps how you got into the profession, what you specialise in, and how you got qualified. Thanks in advance!!
Career suggestions? Hi, I am currently looking to make a career transition. I am in my 30's and have been in the performing arts for a number of years. I am not looking for a "button up" office job. Waitering or retail is an option of which I am aware. I am seeking suggestions for a longer term type creative career or training program. Thanks so much. I live in NYC, by the way.
Question about wpscourse.com, Career Training Institute??? Please Help!?!? I recently viewed this site that offers a program where after completion you can build a career typing articles for websites and earning money while doing so. The program is inexpensive and sounds too good to be true of course. So, I was wondering if anyone can give me insight to this, especially anyone who has actually enrolled and completed the program. I also would like to know how your pay is determined, and if you have to come up with your own material for the ads, or if that is provided to you?? Thanks, Christina.

How was your training at ATP flight academy? I'm seriously considering ATP flight academy. I'm think I'm too old (30 going on 31 in Dec) to wait much longer so I decided on accelerated school. I understand the pro's / cons. I'm thinking about getting my PPL at a FBO in the mean time. How was your schedule for the career program??? Did the instructors know enough to teach you? Did many of your peers pass/fail? What kind of flight experience did you have prior to the program? Would you reccomend it to a friend?
Does anyone out there know how hard is the Warrent Officer Flight Training Program in the Army is? I'm 32 and in decent shape, and I need a career change. If I see anymore data cable I'm going to flip out. I never been much of a runner but I can jog in a group for a few miles. So I'm wondering if I'll be in way to over my head with all the 8 week weight loss program. Plus the secondary physically intensive schools that I will have to attend.
Schneider Drivers Please Respond! Is Schneider a good way to start a truck driving career? Do you feel that there training program is good & thorough enough? Educational grants for career training? Hi, This is probably a lost cause but I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me. In the fall I would like to take this language course to become certified to teach EFL. I wanted to teach English overseas, so I did some research and the first step is to get certified. I looked into some programs and found out that the two premier programs are the Cambridge CELTA and the Trinity TESOL certificate... Trinity college in London runs the place, and they accepted me... the problem is money. The school isn't able to offer financial aid, and "regular" student loans and scholarships don't apply. I work full time (I'm a teacher now) but school is out for the summer and I am at the end of my rope. I want to do this so badly, but I need the money and I have exhausted all my ideas for finding it. I am looking into getting a part-time job as well. What I would like to know is, are there any grants out there that would apply to my situation? 1 day ago - 2 days left to answer. Additional Details 1 day ago What I meant to say is, I would like to know if there any grants that I might be eligible for? Are there are any grants that would apply to my situation? The program is abroad, and I'll be leaving in November... I did some research and there is such a thing as a career development loan, but you have to be a UK citizen because the British consul offers it... I'm not sure if the US government offers such a thing. If you can help me THANK YOU!!! :D Antonio! Go practice!! Ay que testarudo!!
Is getting a career before "officially" going to college a bad idea? Since the cost of college tuition is getting pretty damn ridiculous, and I did not want to end up paying off loans for the rest of my life, I decided that I wanted to go into a Nursing program at a local community college - so that I would have a manner of paying for school when I decided to begin my education on a large scale. I found it somewhat disturbing when I discovered, then, that some institutions would not allow you to transfer and continue with your education if you had the equivalent of two years of college work under your belt. The Nursing program that I am now enrolled in is exactly two years, and I'm wondering whether or not I will not be allowed to continue at a better university because of this. I know that I should probably be asking people at the schools that I'm interested in, but I wanted to inquire first whether or not there was a blanket policy regarding whether career training courses counted toward transfer credits that would not be "allowed" at universities.
I am considering a career as a medical technologist. Can you give me the pros and cons of this profession? I have Bachelor's in Psychology and Business Admin. The jobs I've had so far have been low paying customer service type stuff. Though this could be because I live in Lakeland, FL. I was pre-med at UF and so I've taken classes in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Statistics, Anatomy and Physiology. I decided against med school since I don't like to deal with people and their problems, but I'm interested in medical research. But I want a job that allows me to have a fair amount of physical motion. Being a factory worker in an automobile manufacturing plant sounds good to me. In other words, I don't want to be in a cubicle and tied down to a phone all day. I don't want to work standard business hours due to my insomnia I have a hard time showing up to work at 8 am. The local hospital has different shifts available for medical technologist. I would have to go through a training program and get licensed. Can you tell me whether this is the right profession for me?
What schools in the PA-NJ-DE area have good programs that train for ultrasound technician careers? Just thought I'd ask this for one of my younger cousins, in case she doesn't know about Yahoo's Q & A. Now that I think of it, the schools don't have to be only based in PA-NJ-DE. If there's a good national school with this program, let me know and I'll look into their locations. Thanks.
What computer career training is right for me? I think I love computers, but I know almost nothing about them and I really and suck at math. However, I think I can work past a lot of that. Mainly I am an artist, but I am thinking of working in animation and new media which requires lots of computer use. I think it would be nice to be one of those geeky guys that can build a computer from a paper clip and two tin cans. Essentially I'd like to be able to run my own system, network of back up computers or render farm, and also fix some software issues and possibly develop software for learning games and video games. So basically fix computers in general and build them and be able to create programming. I've heard building computers is fairly easy. But what job title am i seeking and What degree or certificate would I need. Where can I go to learn this stuff? How long would it take to learn.? I did the art school thing, (know a little about photoshop, not so much Maya , but I can learn )and have a MA ( for what little thats worth). But would I need to get another bachelors in systems or IT? Or could I go through some kind of basic training program in less time? maybe a year or two? If I decided to work in IT what does it usually pay? What could I earn? big bucks would be nice. I guess my ultimate goal is to marry the technical and the creative somehow. I've been considering a return to school perhaps for a Phd in art/new media or education and technology. But the catch 22 is that I'd have to learn the tech stuff first. So I guess I need the best route to get there. And hopefully then I can double my income too.
Does anyone have experience with a career at Comerica? I am thinking about going back into the workforce. I might be entering the Branch Management Training Program at Comerica. And good or bad experiences with this company??

Would you move to go after a job opportunity that would greatly benefit your career? I've just graduated from college (a few months ago) and I'm now looking at the job opportunities that will be offered at my college's upcoming job fair. My major is in Finance, but I lack actual experience in the field. Nonetheless, I could do quite well for myself if I am one day able to be a Financial Analyst. Few companies offer training programs, but one that does has opportunities in Irvine California (in "The OC" Orange County). I live too far to drive there ... if you're familiar with California, I live in Ventura County with my family. In any case, it would be an awesome opportunity, but I'd have to move out on my own to do it. Should I go for it? It sounds kind of exciting actually ... I could get an apartment in Newport Beach which is right next to Irvine and is supposed to be really nice. So what say you, should I leave home and follow the job if the opportunity presents itself?
Are there good career oppurtunities in the CIA/FBI? Im thinking about a career in the FBI/CIA but before i commit to a training program or what not, i want to know if anyone out there has any knowledge on how well the jobs pay (entry level on up in as many different jobs as possible), what the training is like and if its a worthwhile career.

I would like to know about the career options open to a Maersk International Shipping Education (MISE) Trainee Please help me get over this confusion. I have been selected as a MISE Trainee, but I am not sure about accepting their offer. This training program calls for 2 years of on-the-job and theoretical learning, along with a lot of travel. After the 2 years of training follows another 2 years of expatriate assignment. I need advice from people who are knowledgeable about the MISE trainee program. Can anyone please tell me the following: 1) compensation and benefits for the MISE trainee, 2) workplace environment and behavior of supervisors, 3) if they will allow me to enroll in an MBA program after I become a MISE graduate, 4) what kind of compensation can I expect then, and 5) would a MISE program make me less marketable if I decide to switch industries? Thanks for your help.

Help!!!! Funding for career training!!!!? I'm planning to take a language course to get certified to teach EFL. It's called the Trinity Cert. TESOL and Trinity College of London runs the program. The only problem is I've had a really hard time finding the money, and I'm working and saving but it's really expensive. Regular student loans won't apply because it's abroad and it's not in the US. Can I sue the company for a falsely advertised training pass rate? I left a good career in order to train as an Air Traffic Controller in January 2007. The company, NATS, advertised the job on their website claiming the success rate at the college of air traffic control (run by NATS) was 80%. It turns out the success rate is actually around 40%, if that! I unfortunately failed the final part of the course on a technical basis (the practical assessment), I passed the theory side so it's not that I didn't work hard enough for it. I do feel that the actual pass rate is a disgrace and people leaving good careers to be trained by the company, on a salary of £10,000 a year, are being severely let down by their money saving training program. I would not have left my previous job had I known the real pass rate and I'm now struggling to maintain my mortgage etc. Could I successfully sue the company?

I have been to university to study Graphic Design, but i am seriously considering changing my career path completely and training to be a sonographer. I cannot do a radiography course first because i am in a wheelchair and have hip replacements which means i cannot be in an MRI environment. I just want to train using ultrasound equipment, so that i am able to have a career at the end of it working with pregnant women. If anyone can give me any information about becoming a sonographer and courses/training programs in the UK then i would be most grateful.
Undecided about career? Hey, I'm pretty undecided about what career path I want to go into. I'm not interested in a traditional 4 year college as of right now. So what I'd like to ask is, Do you know of any decent (or better) paying careers that have short training time (2 years or less)..? Any jobs/companies that have sort of a pay/train program going on? Do you know where I can look for these type of things? Any suggestions?

Reserve Officer Training Program (Coast Guard) Chances? I am applying for Reserve Officer Training Program with the Coast Guard. I have been a working professional for several years out of college, but I am looking to make a significant career change to something more exciting. My overall GPA for undergrad was 3.1, for professional certification, 3.25. I was not a good test taker in high school. My SAT was somewhere around 1050 (minimum 1000) and my ACT was 21 (they want 23). What are my chances for this program? I am planning on applying for Public Affairs (I minored in Public Relations) or Information Technology. Also, any application insight will be helpful.

Does anyone know if the website promotion specialist training offered by the Career Institute is a scam? I came across this website that claims to offer an at home certification program that once completed makes you a website promotion specialist. They promise that you will be working for a fortune 500 company immediately at the end of your certification or they refund your $249. It's a 6 hour course that teaches you how to type up ads of some kind for these big companies like Target, American Express, etc. Has anyone done this? I actually read an article on yahoo promoting this and clicked on the link at the end of it. But I'm still not sure
Will the Coast Guard IT rating provide good training for a civilian career? I'm in college right now majoring in Computer information Systems and Marketing. I have 60 hours behind me not counting this semester. I have a 2.85 GPA, not good I know, it use to be a 3.9 but I slipped during a few major family emergencies. I took my ASVAB last week and made an 89, im not sure about the line scores yet. I am very interested in joining the Coast Guard or Navy, mainly because of the job experience which I think will be beneficial to me when I'm job-searching. And also the benefits and life experiences. So, I guess my question is, Would it be beneficial to enlist in the Coast Guard IT program as a way to find a better job in the future, to serve my country, and to have a great life experience? Can anyone who is a Coast Guard IT give any advice? Thanks! Thanks! My main interest at the moment is joining the Coast Guard. I'm also interested in Intelligence or Operations Specialist.. I just figured since Im in CIS now it may benefit me to go into that area! Thanks again :D
Career Path Suggestions? I am in my thirties, and have primarily been in theatre and acting until now. I am in NYC, and the acting thing is at a standstill. Training and Careers in sleep medicine? I am trying to find out how many programs/schools offer training in Sleep Disorders or Sleep medicine (part of a research paper)
I want a career and not a job, anybody know of any? I've been through many career changes in the past few years and there is only one thing that stays the same, my job. I've worked at walmart for 4 years now and I've tried to get out going for jobs in the medical field with schooling in CNA and EMT, in the computer world with self training in computer repair, website design, and programming(not much because no jobs to practice) and insurance. All jobs cost me a lot of money and I'm tired of trying to find a career and training for it without getting the actual job in the end. Does anyone want to hire someone who is capable of doing pretty much anything and can work really hard? I'm not worried about loosing my job at WalMart, I just feel stuck and there is not enough kissing butt in my personality to get a promotion. Leave me your email and I will contact you back if you want

Career worries and change at 40? I'm almost 40 years old and earn over 70,000 yearly in an computer programming career. Is it a good idea to change careers at my age. A friend of mine finish an air conditioning tech school program and is making good money. I love the technology field, although I get tired of reading soooo many books and training to stay on top of all new technologies. I'm also worried there won't be any jobs in the future due to offshoring to India and China. What do you advise?
Ever heard of CBT Direct IT Training from U.S.? Is it real? I found this website giving training to be certified in a certain field of career or program. the website is www.cbtdirect.com. Are they legal? because since its an out of school training they are asking my credit card. Can somebody pls. tell me if they are really legal beacause I'am really intererested about it. THank's In advace!
Looking for career advice? I want to increase my skill set and earning potential, but I'm looking for a skill/training program that will allow me to find work in the given field immediately after finishing the class/certification program. Please give me any suggestions specifically for classes/programs that are in the range of 3-6months to complete. I wouldn't be against anything longer, but I'm looking to find something I can start soon, complete the program, start working and earning better money than I currently do. I'm pretty much open to anything, I would just want to be able to get in, get out & start earning. Thanks!!! What is an ACO & what's the salary range?
certificate programs? im a tad indecisive, and was wondering what some great career training certificates are to go for? im not too picky, like i said i just cant seem to settle on one. so if any of you have obtained a certificate, and now have a career in that field, maybe you can give me some ideas. and quick explanation of what you do, if it was easy to get a job afterwards, salary etc..
how does one start an acting career? Let me first start off by saying i know i can do it. I have no doubt about that. im not saying im going to be a walk on phoenomenon or anything i will need some proper training and thats where my question comes in. How do i get started. im on top of a mountain on my sled ready to go im just waiting for some one to give me a push. I cant really get into any colleges that have top training programs like julliard or dont see anything my high school grades werent that good and dont see myself getting a loan to go nor getting accepted due to my grades. Please dont say something like maybe you should try to go to a small college and try another profession first or join the military like i have heard in the past. im serious about acting and i know i can do it. everyone who knows me tells me i should get into serious actin cause im really funny and can do serious acting cause i have fooled people into thinking im blind, gay, and high when i wasnt. i need some serious advice. can anyone help!
I have a career decision to make, please help.? Okay. I work at Radioshack which is minimum wage base with commission opportunity. I've worked there for two years and make an average of 8 to 9 dollars an hour. I recently moved in with a roommate (lived with my parents before) and my income is barely covering my living expenses. I've been promised entry into the management training program this summer. I'm 20 credits away from my two year community college degree but have not much time for school with a full time job. Should I look for another job? Stay with this one? My boss's wife also has breast cancer and he has stated many times that he'd die if any of his full timers quit cause its so hard to find good employees. Radioshack does not offer raises to sales associates, only promotions. What should I do to bring in more money?
what career path might interest me, im running out of time. Im a 30 y/o who has many interests.? at the point where i need to make a decision whether im going to attend graduate school or get in a management training program. I feel like im wasting time, but i have thought about public administration, public health, pilot school, business school, health care administration, HR. Basically, I like to work with people in a service based environment , but i would like to make a decent living. I like jobs with autonomy but some structure and a clear job goal.i love to travel and need something exciting. 9-5 usually drives me crazy but its secure and comfortable. Im currently in home health sales and marketing and its not my cup of tea. I have been in the military,I have a BA in sports management, medical experience, social service experience, customer service experience and quite a bit of other experience, but i just cant seem to commit to a subject in grad school or an area i want to work in. i do know that i want to be in a leadership position that is of importance. Any suggestion
CAREER PAPER EDITING? im in 8th grade and just wrote my ROUGH DRAFT for my carrer paper.please edit anything? u find wrong. we had to use 3rd person liek someone and could ONLY use i in the intro and conclusion! thanks for all ur help! where the stars are in the second paragraph i need a good school 2 go 2!! please help For my whole life, I’ve wanted to be somebody who could make a difference in not just one, a lot of kids’ lives. I want to help them overcome obstacles and face their fears. I want to guide students and help them make tough decisions. I want to be there when they are confused and need help. What do I want to be? I want to be a teacher and change the aspect of school in kids’ eyes. It takes quite a bit of education to become an educator. Education requirements vary from place to place but they are most likely the same. Someone who wants to be a teacher has to have at least a bachelor’s degree in an approved teacher training program. Someone who wants to be a teacher must take courses in the subject they want to teach. They must take and pass an exam and have to receive certification as a teacher. It is mandatory that a trainee spends several months as a student teacher under the supervision of an experienced teacher. It is necessary that they attend education conferences and summer workshops to get further training. A college a teacher-to-be can attend could be***************. There are many skills someone needs to have in order to become a teacher. Some abilities needed to be a teacher are to be patient and corporative. That is very important because teachers need to be patient with students or they shouldn’t be a teacher. They have to be able to plan and arrange assignments, to evaluate students, and be very helpful. Some skills most people need to improve on are being able to be honest with grading, clarity and to not be shy. Teachers have many responsibilities. Some responsibilities consist of are being able to guide, help, and work with kids. This job can be challenging depending on the location of the school and having to deal with school and home problems. Teachers need to be able to evaluate student work honestly. Some working conditions are that teachers need to be present for classes, usually twelve to sixteen hours a week. Most states require schools to be in session for a minimum number of days, usually in a ten month schedule with a two month vacation. The average teacher is paid just about over $42,000 a year, according to http://www.wikipedia.org/. Pay depends on educational level, experience, and the school, the district and the state. The cost of living in certain areas heavily influences the amount of money. Benefits depend on the school but some are usually healthcare. Some pros of teaching are being able to work with great kids, the ability to be a role model, being able to fix whatever got messed up the day before, having most of the summer is free of work, and good benefits. Some teacher benefits would sometimes include healthcare. Some cons of teacher are the environment in which the school is, and dealing with parents. Demands for being a teacher are that there’s always going to be a need for new teachers. According to www.kinderart.com, there’s been an increased demand for secondary teachers. There has also been shortages of teachers may occur in urban and rural schools. There is a request for more male teachers everywhere. Demands will increase in the future. I want to be a teacher and change the aspect of school in kids’ eyes. I want this job because I want to help, guide, and teach kids. I want to make a difference in the boring meaning of teaching. I learned that it takes a lot to be a teacher. I will need to go to school for about four years and there is going to be an increase in need for teachers in urban areas, where I would like to teach. After doing this research, I learned that I really want to become a teacher and someday will. yea someone will read it. u obviously have nuttin better to do then look at a question, doubt it, and just get ur 2 pts. woah- big accomplishment. =] ill remember that when u ask somethin....
where do YOU stand on education and how much of it one needs? personally i think that everyone ought to try to finish at least high school but i know that some people are just not cut out for college or university some are better suited to career programs or vocational training but i do beleive one should get as much education as one can handle
Where would I find training on CJIS/NCIC or IDACS computer programs? I have 30+ years as Administrative Assistant.... need career change.
I am looking at becoming a financial advisor. Anybody have advice on career path/ best companies to work for? I have 17 years of experience in the investment field and I have been managing and trading my own account for a living since '98. I am thinking about talking with some independent financial advisors with the intent of finding someone that wants to take on a junior advisor(usually the advisor will give the junior some small accounts to help get started and takes a cut of the commissions of course) I have heard that this is a much better approach than starting out with no accounts as you would in a wire house training program.
